Tips on settlement lighting? *possible spoilers*
I've always wondered why Beth made the settlement lights soo dark. I am now using the "Brighter Settlement Lights" mod at the brightest version and I still can't manage to light vault 88 to get it well lit and looking sterile like the other vaults you visit..

Use one of the square Vault fluorescent lights in every roof section. Also note that this really only works with a one-storey setup. I've filled in awkward places with string lights and tracklights where needed.

That's what I thought.. I currently have one big 2 story room (I like having more space) and the lighting just wont do.. but I guess I'll have to be good with it.. except anyone knows how to deal with this..
Have you tried adding small tables with little lamps on them? Tables, so you don't have weird lamps in the middle of the floor.

Edit: I don't know if you knew, but conduits's influence is cylindrical, not spherical, so you can have a conduit three stories up and still power a floor lamp.

The most effective indoor lights by far are the single hanging bulbs and the strings of bulbs, followed by the caged industrial bulb and the 'high tech' wall sconces.

Outdoors? Street lights, no question. I prefer the shorter integrated units (no arm, toroidal lamp).

to be honest settlement lighting has always bugged out on me, every light fixture I try will work for a short time and I came back and its not emitting any light even though its turned on

So apart from "Better Settlement Lights" I can now also recommend the "Vault-Tec SimuSun Lighting" mod which makes the vault-tec workshop lights exactly like I want them! I don't know what happens if you use both mods at once though.

I might just stick to the Vault-Tec one as in outside settlements I can use street lights, other than in the vault where I kinda have to use neon lights if I want it to look acceptable.

That looks kinda nice too. I'm going to check it out!

EDIT: Well, I think the new lights are nice in terms of style, but they are still a little bit too dark. The vault still looks somehow like a creepy abandoned bunker unless you plaster everything with lights (and 2 storey rooms are kind of impossible to light with just ceiling lights).

So people that want that clean and well lit vault look might want to stick to the SimuSun mod!
