Kingsport or Croup Manor?
Out of the two, which is easier to set up?

I am planning to set up a few empty settlements before I get one of the Nuka World gangs to take over it.

Kingsport has too many spaces filled up, Croup Seems better and has a decent height limit

neither, the best to use is Star Light Drive in, Finch Farm, and Jamaica Plain, those 3 locations will have the best radius to reach the surrounding settlements so ya have plenty of choices for provision locations

Unfortunately those are three settlements I dislike or cannot use.

Starlight - while technically viable, I really don't like the open nature of the place and I would need to start building a lot to make it more of a raider base

Finch Farm - already inhabited. Just want to take over an uninhabited one first.

Jamaica Plain - I did a quick check if I could invade that place and it was unavailable.

I think I prefered Kingsport. Raiders are at both with me but I've been avoiding all outposts because they've become overpopulated nightmares. How to stop this madness?? lol

Overpopulated? How overpopulated can it get?

Also what is the minimum number of beds required for a raider settlement? Does it use the same formula as the regular settlements?

kingsport for aesthetics if nothing else. Dealing with the citizens is a pain, and it does have a bit of a limit to build space. But it is one of the more interesting sites in the game. Croup may be in a better position, though.

Kingsport, a house, and a garden with walls, put turrets on walls, put turrets on cliffs. then up is lighthouse, down is boathouse and boat... very nice place.

I took both with raiders. then used finch to feed coup and slog to feed kingsport.

you can snipe a lot of the inhabitants from the nearby rocks. So hazmat may not be necessary. i have never used the hazmat getting Kingsport. If you leave it behind, bring a lot of radaway, radx, and refreshing drink.

I forgot to mention the hazmat 200 meters near the place..I guess that's just my tactic to take over kingspost

there is a hazmat near there? I did Kingsport last month and forgot about it or didn;t see it. I don't like the hazmat. Though i have all the lifegiver and toughness perks, i like to be fully armored. Even if it means having to gulp radaway like a raider fiend.

I always prefer to be close to a big, thick, erect structure such as a lighthouse.
I don't know why, but I enjoy it.

A lot.

I used Croup Manor as raider settlement since in my game the settlers sleep in water. Raiders use the beds. Side note it also works with robot settlers running shops 24 hours a day.
