Scrap legendary items.
By default, legendary items can't be scrapped. I do not favor this tbh.
Can this be overriden? I want the parts of the Cryolator because I never use that gun and the ammo is too scarce to give the weapon to any companion.

There might be a Mod to scrap legendary items (star items), but the game out of the box won't let you.

Just sell the ones you don't want. Or put them on your settlers.
