Entering the FEV Lab issue

there seems to be no way to access the lab as soon you enter the institute...I mean, there is one way but with Master terminal, so screw that.

The other way is the novice locked door but when I enter that way there is a locked mechanic door...Not sure what I'm doing wrong... Do I need to progress further the quests to unlock that way?

I saw someone post this a few months ago. When I posted this in response I did not hear back. I suspect there is a way around that door. If not you may be able to use console commands to open it. But look at this video to make sure you are not missing something.

You don't need any special skill to get into the FEV lab. All players can open novice locks--as long as you have bobby pins. Just watch out for the turrets.

I just cleared fev lab today, got virgil serum, I didn't need to unlock any expert or master, I did press 2 buttons, game let me put my arm through broken window.

Thanks though this video shows something else...At 3:30 you can see the door is open...wth? In my game the door is sealed, there was no laser tripwire when I first entered, just a tesla trap on the ceiling.

Explain me why the door is sealed. Just past the novice door. I know you don't need perks to open novice though...

What did you do the window? I tried sitting on the chair and pressing buttons but I couldn't reach nothing. I need to go back there and try something else now

Had this issue too the last 2 times the doors after the entrance are locked (decontamination chamber.

get in the decontamination, see 2 buttons thru window, one shuts door u just came thru, other opens next door to out.

well that one opens with a novice terminal, if you came the correct route, incorrect route you'd be at the exit door.

the room before decontam entry is like a tatty work depot area with good bit of loot;.

where do I enter then? I only knew the way in the video above linked, check at 3:20+ , that's the route I know

yeah I don't watch the steam linked vids much, anyway you'll get there it's pretty easy, easier than that damn car park maze lol. easier than nuka cola gauntlet nightmare..

ok I found how to get in the FEV lab...

Basically you need to get From Withtin from Maxson and talk to Madison Li, but without the use of the speech check otherwise that will skip the trip to the FEV lab...She will ask you to get her some documents inside the FEV lab where you can also grab the serum for virgil

Leaving this here if anyone finds it useful

update...well the door is still sealed...wth is wrong with this game.
