Does anyone else find this perk essential for traveling large distances where permitted while avoiding confrontation, Or is it just too cheesy?

In two separate survival runs I did not take it. But I'm never in a hurry so it never bothered me to walk across Boston. I typically pick a different route thru the city stopping to investigate each building I find.

I just figured swimming past the city is like skipping dinner for desert.
I usualy use it as a highway too a number of settlements such as taffington boathouse and downtown boston itself

i had a level 7 character that didn't have this perk. I dumped the character. For me, it is essential. Not only is there so much water in the game, but enemies don't follow you into the water, and the easiest way to get to Diamond city early game is via the water way. I would add leadbelly as a must have, especially in survival. This pick is controversial, and a case can be made against leadbelly. I just don't agree with the general opinion. I didn't realize how useful the perk was until yesterday, when i started a new game to do a charisma/luck build. Everything i put in my mouth gave me radiation.

With the Aqua boy/girl perk you can get Spectacle Island, AND the Luck bobblehead at level 1

Basically without it your playing that children's game. THE GRASS IS LAVA. or in this case the water. I figure be an adult and not play by those rules... STEALTH perks are the next step. No mines tripwires and so forth for me thank you very much.

Children that don't play by the rules don't get to play with other children. Adults that don't play by the rules go to prison and .... well you know what they do to you in prison. :steammocking:
