Outfit Duplication Glitch
I thought I'd share on this glitch I ran across, since it allows you to gain additional copies of the unique outfits of a few characters and I've not seen it mentioned anywhere else. I'd also like to confirm that it works for someone other than me.

What you do is instruct the relevant companion to inspect a grenade bouquet, tesla trap (enemy traps only), or flamethrower trap. They walk over, but in addition to disarming the trap, they also revert to their original equipment, putting whatever they're currently using into their inventory. You can then switch this equipment off them as normal. As long as you've got the traps to use, you can keep making more copies.

I found it to work for Cait, Hancock, Old Longfellow, Piper, and Preston Garvey. Nick Valentine switched to his original faded trenchcoat (if wearing the quest reward one) which could also be useful if you want the modified one back. It didn't seem to work for any other traps or triggers that I tested, just the ones listed above, and the other companions I tested either didn't change, or didn't get anything useful (sadly, Maccready donned unusuable road leathers instead of his unique duster and hat).

Aside from Nick Valentine, you can already get unique companion apparel by pickpocketing NPCs. So far the only NPC I have noticed that doesn't respawn his inventory is Tinker Tom. Oh well, it's my hate now ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Interesting; they all seem to stay naked for me. Is that before or after you recruit them, and does it also apply for Maccready? I seem to remember getting copies of Old Longfellow's outfit before recruiting, but not after.

I've actually stolen multiple outfits from Tinker Tom; all it seems to require is that you remove all of his equipped clothes, since leaving just a single piece prevents the refresh.

It's only because I haven't been able to do the same thing with companions that I found this glitch to be useful.

It has to be done pre-recruitment I think.

That would make sense. Of course, I don't know why this glitch doesn't work for Maccready, unless his base outfit is actually those road leathers instead of his unique clothes.

Does this trap glitch work for you on recruited companions, and does it fail in the same way with Maccready in particular?
