Nuka-World Difficulty (Spoilers)
I dont know if my game is bugged somehow or what is going on. I originally started the game in very hard difficulty but dropped it down to normal when playing with controller.
Today I started the nuka-world DLC and I did my usual leave everything behind except a single weapon and combat armor start. The gauntlet was easy, very easy, no problem whatsoever and same goes for the area with blood worms and to certain degree ghouls.

The robots were stupidly tough and I exhausted all my stimpacks and ammo clearing the area. Now im at the bottling plant and encountered my first mirelurk and its even worse.
I spent a lot of rare resources upgrading a laser rifle for max damage and we are talking around 100 mf cells to kill one nukajerk lurker. I realise there is a power armor at the galaxy area but I cannot get to it yet and that would only add to my toughness a bit. I still need to figure out how to kill these mirelurks.

Is this how its susposed to be. I am constantly dying because I can only take couple of hits and struggling to kill even a single enemy due to ammunation shortages.

SHORT VERSION FOR LAZY PEOPLE
Monsters too tough to kill
Dying in few hits from practicly any npc.
Is this how its susposed to be?????
Any tips?? (no spoilers please:)

I have a 110+ character and some of the mobs and especially the robots can be hard to fight. But you should definiteley try power armor, upgraded if possible. I've got fully upgraded X-01 power armor and I can handle everything fine.

Also, if you upgrade your (forgot the name of it) robotics perk, you can hack every robot. For some areas, especially the galaxy zone, I'd hack a bot and incite it or command it so I could use it to take the brunt of damage (and do damage of its own) while i picked off the mobs.

Lastly, get the new 7.62 rifle from any of the gangs or the Nuka Market. Does a lot of damage compared to most weapons.

FYI, that power armor isn't the only suit you can find but it also requires you to basically finish the DLC content to get to it.

thats actualy normal in any Bethesda game i've played
this dlc is like Lonesome Road in regards of difficulty
it starts of quite later on and is incredibly tough even on easier difficulties

its something you have to coup with if you dont want to use mods

only tip i can give you is to leave the area and return when you level up more and get more perks / stronger gear

or if you have automatron dlc build a OP robot and bring him with you
use this setup :

Assaultron laser head
Sentry Torso (special torso mods: gas canister launcher , cluster bomb launcher , regeneration field)
Sentry arms left and right (Gatling Laser in one Missile Launcher or Tesla Gun in other or another Gatling laser dual gatling also works great)
Assaultron Legs for mobility and speed

Armor : Full Hydraulic Armor set

it may be costly but that kind of companion will have tons of health and nice armor and will dish out insane amounts of dps while using crowd control at same time (gas can launcher)

automatron with this build helped me A LOT throughout hard areas
he took down Swan in barely 2 seconds and 1 shotted legendary enemies with his head laser

alternative way is to max Agility and Sneak then return to nuka world and bring the pain from the shadows Sneak builds are one of the most OP builds in the game (suggested weapons : Overseers Guardian silenced or Deliverer)

I actually brought codsworth with me, he was upgraded to with mix and match parts, robobrain head on protectron hull with gatling laser and minigun and max armor/carryweight mods. Sent him home with full load of stuff after gage offered to follow me around.
So it seems that this is the first DLC for fallout that I should have started over prepared. I usually tend to go in with minimal gear to make the experinece even a bit challenging but Nuka-World has been ridiculously hard.

With Splattercannon I don't see how anything about this DLC could be hard. Except for those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crickets.

Especially the Galactic zone robots. Don't take this the wrong way, but I didn't even get hit once by any robot in that area. And this isn't even with a sneak build. Granted, I kind of abuse companions by using commands... They're actually not that bad at drawing fire if you order them to attack.

I think that something is borked with my game files since pretty much anything kills me in 2-3 seconds if I dont manage keep distance. And keeping distance is kind of hard when enemies soak up so much damage. I used my stockpile of 50+ grenades to clear most of the robots, For some reason ordinary frag grenades did good bit of damage while weapons barely put a dent in them.

Did you check resistances? For instance, energy weeapons vs robots will do much less damage than ballistics.

do Tesla Rifle has any hidden bonuses vs robots? because i was able to mow them down with ease with that thing even high level ones

Well seeing as I have cleared the park with just Grognak's axe, I can completely agree the crickets are the worst.

Try going to Nuka-World at a higher level. It's harder than the regular game because most people have already completed the regular game and are just getting the DLC.
SpeedFreak1972 Sep 14, 2016 @ 3:52am
indeed I did it at level 52 the first time and I had my hands full.

I've completed the game 3 times but had no access to my old saves for some reason.
Sucks that the DLC is released so slowly. Would make sense to release them monthly.
I went in at level 33 so maybe thats why its been so tough but there is obvious inconsistency between the enemies. Others are tough, others are easy and the rest are stupidly strong to a point where it becomes frustrating to deal with them.. Managed to find the Nuka power armor so im good for now.

CHEATS ! AND LOTS OF THEM ! OR probably better would be to reload before entering nuka world ! kill harvey and do something less boring !
