Godrays Fixed yet
So when godrays are set to anything below Ultra there is this weird pixelation effect that looks terrible. Problem is.....when godrays are set to Ultra they eat up alot of fps. The game looks great with high or medium godrays just sometimes you get the pixelation bug? I tried turning godrays off but the game looks flat and last gen. Even meduim godrays really makes the world pop.

No and I doubt they ever will be fixed, I keep them off, just having the sun spot doesn't look flat/last gen to me. The graphics are still great in this game

also even if you run Godrays at Ultra, I seen people say even a GTX 1080 can't handle them, its a problem with the game engine so it doesn't matter what card you have

The problem for most is that it will always say "low" when it's supposed to be "off".

Some of those visual options are just stupid. Why should I want blood in my eyes when I'm playing first person mode? And lens flare, really? JJ Abrams can go home on that one. I'm trapped behind glasses, and don't get "lens flare", gah.

Graphics are already kind of a luxury since you don't need Ultra graphics, but to me Godrays are an even bigger luxury. They don't add too much to the aesthetics. but they detract a lot. I don't really see how leaving them on suddenly makes the game look current gen

The Godrays setting acctually adds alot of features like subsurface scattering and screenspace reflections on the lighting. Unfortunatly Bethesda baked alot of settings into the Godrays feature....check out the nvidia tweak guide about godrays setting and they list everything it controls. I agree...I normally am not a Ultra or nothing with my game settings. Ussually meduim to high looks like great nowadays but the world of FO4 really looks flat with godrays off
The only thing I can think of is this mod

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15211/?

I haven't used it in forever, and I don't remember how the shimmering and twitching the mod author says it does looks. Try it out and see for yourself, this might be the only solution

So...not sure if this is related at all, but I keep having this problem where sometimes if there's anything big around...(buildings, trees, foliage, etc.) the texture will completely bug out and start stretching across the screen...and whenever I enter buildings...My god...walls, floors, even ceilings don't show up...and if I move to the wrong spot of the building...the textures start to glitch REALLY BAD to the point I can't even see anything anymore...does anybody else have this problem? Is it related to godrays? I usually turn them off just to be safe...should I leave them on?

Have you tried vaidating/verifying the integrity of your game cache?

I have, but it takes exceedingly long to do so...I'll try it again, and let you know what happens.

Don't forget to delet "appcache" before validating the master files (game cache). Google "Steam (game) delete appcache".

Never had this...fallout 4 has been very crash/bug free for me since launch. I just get really really bad ailasing issues with god rays below ultra

Never did like godrays in the first place.
No, it's not because of my rig, I have a really great one and just find it ugly and a performance sucker for medium and low-tier rigs.

D: I think they look really good, but only at Medium or higher, otherwise you get that wierd pixelated effect on the edges.

in my opinion, Godrays are what make fog/radstorms look good. Without them, everything looks flat.
