Oh, and of course do not stand still, skoot and shoot is the word.
Though i do remember using more stim packs in that quest than I have used in ages, normally I just use food, which is why I have about 800 in my inventory.
Pick off the rabble until only the bosses remain, move from cover to cover, judicious use of mines and grenades helps, as do drugs.
I started with Nisha, and had left the ramps heavily mined, so when the area went hostile and everyone ran to the top, not many actually made it :D
I can see where going into fizzletop with everyone already being hostile might be problematic though. Still, find a defensible spot and let them come to you. Run to the right and behind, dropping mines behind you or something, be tactically smart
By the way, I did the quest "Open Season" at Level 122! Yes it is hard, so that is why you need heavy weaponry
This. Prep. Every mine you can lay hands on, dropped in every place a raider idles.
Heh, wonder how big the FPS hit will be when that first round hits a Boss and suddenly every raider goes aggro, and the mines they're standing next to recognize that... Might even drop a fireworks shell or two next to some of them and start where everything would be visible :)
(yes, fireworks shells detonate in real fire and explosions)
I also got lucky and found a combat armor piece that autostims me.
The destroy all raiders fight is seriously crazy, I really think there should of been a better reward/ending and achievement for it.
Oh and you weren't saving all those mininukes to admire them later where you ;-) Best crowd control weapon in the game...
I started with Mason, and just sort of spun around and let off round after round until the amphitheater was left lifeless. This drew out mags black, who I bottle necked with the operators at the doorway leading to the market.
Left a skeleton crew with Mason, who wasn't much resistance..
And finally, using 'strategy' as I've seen mentioned, I found you can stay on ground floor of fizztop and let the raiders come down the ramp, bottleneck with explosive aoe, used lots of ammo but I survived all the same..
and still managed to keep my playthrough immersive.. (my build is a detective they'd never touch drugs)
Stormed the place with a fully upgraded X-01 and a maxed out explosive minigun. Too easy.
If you use a big enough hammer, the round peg WILL fit in the square hole.
Yeap, thats what I do, I just be the badarse overpowered mother****er and destroy em all.
No strategy needed. Just pure overpoweredness.
To be fair, the pistol was Deliverer, but...
Being the General of the Minutemen.
I rolled in with Preston by my side and a small army of 12 Minutemen in power armor rolling in to clean up the place.
I started with the Disciples and clean that pit up.
I lost 4 Minutemen in that.
When I proceede outside. All hell broke loose.
We could not clear the area and had to fall back.
I lost 6 good Minutemen while trying to retreat.
Once in a safe location we regroup and called in reinforcement.
12 more Menutemen in power armor join the fight.
We finially secured the outside and proceed to wipe out the rest of the raiders from their strong holds.
The last to kill was Gage, out of all the raiders it was hard to take out Gage.
He was a smart man and could of been part of my team for something better.
But he couldn't look past the feeling of being betrayed.
He told me when we were clearing out Nuka-World, that I was the only guy he could trust.
After taking him out, he was the last of the raiders at Nuke-World.
Once all of Nuke-World was cleared of the raider scum we found the plant and turned the power back on.
It was a good fight.
I lost my whole outside power armor after the fight and 18 good Minutemen.
The traders were freed and Nuka-World was once again the best trading hub.

You get to take them back, and get to reclaim the vassal settlements in the same way as the MM quests. I am in the middle of doing that right now
