Are you just asking which armour looks the best? I think that's just down to your personal taste.

EDIT: In general, it depends what you're after. I think marine tactical armour is the heaviest and has the highest rating (I'm not sure about Nuke World armour, though), but it doesn't generally have a chance to produce legendary effects, just the set ones you buy and the non-legendary ones all those zealots wear.

silver shroud armour with mark 5 ballistic weave is pretty good though unless you mod it you cannot wear armour pieces with it.

if you wanna squeeze the DR/ER use ballistic weave with armor parts on top of that, few outfits allow armor parts to be worn above so you'll have 110 DR/ER from the clothing and the DR/ER from the armor parts.

If you don't care about legendary effects you can make a full set metal armor (heavy) with the armor fabric in contraptions dlc. It looks amazing and has the best ballistic resistance. Also mod it with ultra-light for a minimal weight and you're good to go.

I think only the marine armor from FH beats the heavy metal but I'm not sure

With a full set metal (polished) and ballistic weave you can get over 300 DR , that makes you almost immortal

I think the NW raider armors are equal or better than even the assault marine armors. But ballistic weave is so over powered that it becomes the best when mixed with build appropriate legendaries.

I have also a mod that adds ballistic weave to a whole lot more stuff I mean sunglasses with ballistic weave MKV DR over a 100 on the glasses alone ....

you can't. But you can upgrade some outfits that you expect you CAN'T but actually you can...

The raider armor from NW (specifically the "heavy" equivalents from the Operator/Disciples) are the best armor pieces in the game, with the metal Disciple armor chest piece being the best of the best. It has 56/66 DR/ER fully modded, and weighs 14.6 lbs with the Ultra-Light modification.

If modded identically, the Operator Heavy Chest Piece has 55/55/ DR/ER and weighs the same as the Disciples chest piece.

probably one of the mods I'm using, ballistic weave you can use on things like the bathrobe (because reasons) but not silver shroud armour.
