Why Stimpacks are so GOOD in Survival mode.
I just wanted to post a tip as I have seen so many players on these forums saying how they just think stimpacks are useless in survival mode because they are nerfed so hard.

So here is the tip. You can use more then 1 stimpack at once to double, triple the effect of the regen speed and amount. So 3 stimpacks fill up 3x faster then 1.

Once you unlock the last perk in Medic tree this becomes insanely good. I can fill up my 2000 health in like 2-3 seconds by using a couple stimpacks at once.

This can be really great early on in survival as stimpacks early with no perks is quite slow, so by using a few can greatly increase your ability to survive longer.

Keep in mind water/food stacks also. If you pop 20 purified water, you health will just fill up insanely fast also. Food/water/Stimpacks all stack with each other and themselves.

Hope this helps you all out. Good luck.

From my personal testing, nothing stacks like that. You only get duration bonuses.

The only way to stack healing effects is to stagger multiple different sources, like Stimpak, Quantum, and individual types of food.

Nah I mean it def stacks for me. I don't use mods except for like a few texture packs. So just playing the base game but yea it def stacks for me, like its super noticable. I even did some testing with it by jumping off cliff and popping like 4 stimpacks, and it was insane how fast it refilled.

Also water is another thing, pop like 30 waters if you want to test it out. Then go to the status screen and it will actually show you the actual amount of regen your getting from the water and it goes up each use. You can use like 30 waters and stand in large groups and long as the effect is active you will regen faster then they damage you.

Again though Im just using default game mechanics on survival, nothing modded.

No matter how many waters I chug, it always just says 0.7hp.

hey im playin that loot mod.. and a few mods that make water sleep and food not heal..anyway i feel happy if i have 3 stimpaks on me at a time. they are my life blood.. or mainly dogmeats lifeblood.. my 1st playthrough i had so many stimpaks i couldnt die if i wanted to.. but ye when stimpaks are hard to find.. nothing makes me happier to stumble across one
Hobo Misanthropus 9 września 2016 o 18:03
Yeah, even if OP's claim's aren't true, I still use Stimpaks a lot, lol.

Normally whenever I take a hit I just stimpak because... well, combat reflexes and I don't take the medic skill beyond lvl 1 for the Hospital structure.

when i fought mirelurk queen on my first playthrough i had to use multiple stimpaks at once or else the damage over time effect on her attack was still killing me faster than i healed, so idk about food and water, but stimpaks have worked for me like the OP said

Thats really strange bro. Here check out this screen shot I just went and drank like 30 waters. I brought up the settings menu and took screen shot you can see how it says HP+8 just like it should, If I drank 30 more it would be like HP+16 etc..

I usually just use a Nuka-Cola Quantum for that.

Was this all at the same level? Because as you get more HP, since Stimpaks restore HP based on %, they inevitably get more powerful the more HP you have. Eventually you can reach a point where 1 stimpak can outpace the DoT.

Nah for me anyways, they have always stacked since level 1. Just like water/food the more I use the faster it regens. Just like in the screenshot above. Screenshot[imgur.com]

yeah i was the same level on all of my attempts at the fight. when the damage over time was on me the 1st stimpak would only slow down the damage, 2nd would make my hp stay even, and i had to use a 3rd to start healing.

Yea this is exactly what I found out.

Here is another screenshot where I ate like 25 radstag steaks and drank a ton of water.

You can clearly see that my Radstag is healing 27.6 from stacking and my Water is healing 36 from stacking. Stimpacks def work the same way, im not sure what the rate of health they heal per second and I know its % based of your life, but the rate is double on each use of a stimpack.

They are good for reviving your companions, otherwise they are garbage.

I like Survival Mode's Healing system. Ducking around the corner and sucking your thumb for a mili second, then pop out guns blazing makes regardless of what difficulty you play, well easy. Survival mode and the slow healing system I sometimes have to run from fights, actually run. lol

Using them adds hunger, thirst, and the most awful of all, tiredness. This makes you waste your actually good healing items just to use a stimpack. Sometimes the immunity supression also makes you sick, making you waste antibiotics on top of everything.

Yeah, so great.
