I'd assume it was to make room for the like 3 or 4 workshop dlcs.
God, those were bad
Generally, Bethesda's "Uniques" have been unique in appearance, but more often than not, only sidegrades or even downgrades from certain things.
Of course, if you were to consider "Uniques" in Fallout 4 not as things that are Legendary, but as those truly one-of-a-kind weapons like Broadsider, Junk Jet and Alien Blaster (Pre Hub Alien Blaster at least) then it gets a little wierd.
Legendary are not. You need to kill legendary enemies to FARM them which is harder.
Do the math....
Meh, going in as a lvl 100 Vhard is pretty fun, entering one small area with ~20 foes, and getting...hmm...7-10 legendaries.
Lucky me, 90% of the shti I get is amour
Here's the issue though, you can get literally the same gun through Legendary drops. For example, Les Fussile Terrible or w/e is just a violent Combat shotgun.
You must be pretty unlucky then, friend. On my first playthrough, I got practically every gun with the Lucky or Wounding effect. Given, it was on PreUpdate Survival, which amplified the legendary spawn rates more than Vhard. I mean, that's your opinion too, I can't fight that <3
Quite unlucky. I've never found a Never Ending weapon until Aeternus or whatnot.
In fact I had to mod a 2 shot Gauss and Instigating assault rifle. I would've adapted to any two shot but never found one.
Looking for any legendary is easy. Looking for a specific attribute is crazy hard.
Unique weapons aren't exactly trash. It is just how you build your character. Also my preference is to spend as little money as possible so I believe the Problem Solver is FAR more worth it in my opinion over the Splattercannon.
other than that I sort of like not knowing what I'll come across and it definitely shapes my playthrough
