Unique weapons are trash
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it on the Subreddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/51enz5/i_do_not_like_legendary_effects/ about how Uniques are pretty much outplayed by Legendary weapons, as with The Gainer, you can get MUCH better effects on a random ass legendary 44. handgun.

Oh, and why do the SplatterCannon and TheProblemSolver ahve the same effect? Hell, there's no point on getting TPS, as you can buy the SC xd

Uniques are just uniques in name. Pretty common for bethesda.

I'd assume it was to make room for the like 3 or 4 workshop dlcs.
God, those were bad
Unique weapons are trash in this game. Though I will point out, Splattercannon (And Problem Solver) are actually unique in the fact that they use a typically Melee-Only effect on a ranged weapon, making them stand-outs.

Generally, Bethesda's "Uniques" have been unique in appearance, but more often than not, only sidegrades or even downgrades from certain things.

Of course, if you were to consider "Uniques" in Fallout 4 not as things that are Legendary, but as those truly one-of-a-kind weapons like Broadsider, Junk Jet and Alien Blaster (Pre Hub Alien Blaster at least) then it gets a little wierd.

Unique are set in a fix location.
Legendary are not. You need to kill legendary enemies to FARM them which is harder.

Do the math....

Meh, going in as a lvl 100 Vhard is pretty fun, entering one small area with ~20 foes, and getting...hmm...7-10 legendaries.

Lucky me, 90% of the shti I get is amour

Here's the issue though, you can get literally the same gun through Legendary drops. For example, Les Fussile Terrible or w/e is just a violent Combat shotgun.

You still got to farm for it with no sure way to get it. You can go through a whole playthrough without finding your legendary effect. For the unique , you just need to clear the area or do a quest to get it.

You must be pretty unlucky then, friend. On my first playthrough, I got practically every gun with the Lucky or Wounding effect. Given, it was on PreUpdate Survival, which amplified the legendary spawn rates more than Vhard. I mean, that's your opinion too, I can't fight that <3

To me all weapons are an asset. Whether you chose to use them or not is up to you, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Quite unlucky. I've never found a Never Ending weapon until Aeternus or whatnot.

In fact I had to mod a 2 shot Gauss and Instigating assault rifle. I would've adapted to any two shot but never found one.

Looking for any legendary is easy. Looking for a specific attribute is crazy hard.

I found a lucky laser rifle the other day. Does that make getting the Righteous Authority pointless?

Unique weapons aren't exactly trash. It is just how you build your character. Also my preference is to spend as little money as possible so I believe the Problem Solver is FAR more worth it in my opinion over the Splattercannon.

I think there should have been more 'unique' weapons adopting effects not usually allowed to be applied to them..

other than that I sort of like not knowing what I'll come across and it definitely shapes my playthrough

Problem is almost nothing feels unique. Some trivial change in stats and no visual uniqueness dont make a weapon feel much unique and awesome as it should have been to call it that way.

Dude I've got a Legendary Rolling Pin that does DOUBLE Damage against Molerats but only while I'm simultaneously suffering an addiction and taking radiation damage. I mean it's become my main go-to weapon. :steammocking:
