Anyone with basic alcamey and enchanting could crush balence in base skyrim.
Because ammo is soooooooooo hard to acquire in Fallout 4?
However best weapon? Not even. The old version of the explosive combat shotgun was the best weapon. Maybe for human companions it is the best weapon, but the robots from the Automatron DLC already had infinite ammo, and they had infinite ammo for an explosive minigun and fatman launchers.
The Gatling Laser is the gun that you already can shoot A LOT for a little caps, compared to all other guns in the game.
One fusion core is able to hold 1100 bullets if you have Nuclear Physicist 3 and Repair bobblehead, otherwise 500.
You rarely have to reload with it (actually it's better not to reload after fight otherwise it will mess up your fusion cores but you don't lose ammo) and it has crazy dps vs most enemies that you will never use more than 200 rounds in a big fight.
There are way better prefixes for this gun that I remember
Irradiated, wounding, staggering, rapid... most notable the prefix 'Furious' was added to all weapons with Nuka-world and not melee exclusive. Each consecutive shot will give it higher damage and probably making it stack forever, on the same target.
e.g damage ramp 100,120,140,160,180,200 and so on... This prefix makes the Ripper and other fast firing weapons DEVASTATING.
p.s. takes up less space then Splattercannon and it's ammo.
Yeah, but it still doesn't match most guns in Time-to-Kill.
I mean, a Gatling Laser isn't that effective against most melee enemies to be perfectly honest. The spread and damage-per shot doesn't do much against a horde of swarmbots or ghouls, and much less against a Deathclaw with their titanic energy resistance.
Overall, I actually think this gun is less OP than Overseer's Guardian, and really only represents a viable alternative for people who want a good Gatling Laser (And don't get me wrong, it is good) but don't want to kill Maxson or join the Church of RNJesus and hope for a decent drop.
