Mad Mulligan Mines crashing
Been playing the new DLC for a while now but I've had to stop for days now since it keeps crashing in the same spot inside the Mad Mulligan Mines, nothing I do seems to fix it. Do I just wait for a patch or what?

Anyone else have this problem?

My wife's having the same problem. Any luck on finding a resolution?

got sort of the same problem...helped myself out with skipping the QuestStage via console commands. If you want/can play the stage in the mine once, quit the game and then load a save before entering the mine and follow these instructions :

for me it get's stuck when encountering the Bloodworm queen, I can kill her but afterwards I can't leave anymore (endless loading screen/freeze on Saving)

I fixed it by using the console...since I'm running loads of mods my Quest ID's are different to yours, but you can find your unique QuestID out by typing :

help DLC04DryRockGulch 4

then it'll show you something like this :

QUST: DLC04DRYRockGulch (xx0431AB) 'High Noon at the Gulch'

The unique ID (yours will most likely be different) shown in brackets is what you'll need for the next step

Now type :

SetStage xx0431AB 600

Hit Enter

Exit the console, continue playing

This will basically skip the stage where you have to enter the mine and find the source of the Bloodworms.

I know this isn't really a nice solution, but I'm not going to wait for Bethesda to fix it.

If you need anymore help just leave a reply, I'm more then happy to help out if I can.

to whom it may concern : The actual bug is in the Quest Stages itself I think...there's supposed be one more Stage that says "Kill the Bloodworm Queen" when you encounter her..it only shows up briefly AFTER you killed her. So my guess is that the game somehow misses a stage that causes the quest to break.

Try this solution:
In the settings menu, disable automatic saving (on travel and the others just in case). Enter the mine, use the command 'killalll' to insta kill the bloodworms and your target. Leave the mine and save outside the mine. Set your settings back to normal.
Not the best way to end quest, but works for me.

Guys, I can confirm that Zano is right!!!!

There are three things we can do in the mine:
1. Defeat the Queen
2. get the medallion
3. Get Cappy's clue

So I did as Zano advised:
1. I went in, used "killall", stimpaked my companions and high tailed it out of the mine. The game loaded after a bit. I saved and it worked.
2. I went back in and walked around the whole stage and got the medallion. AND I NEVER UNCHAINED THE RED DOORS! And went through the whole mine back to the exit. The game allowed me to exit and save.
3. I went back in and took the Cappy's clue. Went back through the mine, never unchaining the red doors. The game allowed me to leave and save.

So I wonder if the chained door is an issue? Or doing two or three events at the same time causes issues?

Also, some players have mentioned that installing mods that allow you to scrap more items in settlements will interfere with this quest. I never uninstalled mine and this technique worked for me.

Writing this in the beginning of 2021, I've got the same problem while running a heavily modded game. (including the unofficial F04 patch) I don't think it matters if you chain or unchain the red door, at least perhaps not for me. Whenever I interact with anything inside the mine and I choose to save the game it was an endless loading loop. The key for me to fixing not being able to complete the quest for nukaworld was the solution provided by Zrehyl. If you like me are playing on Survival mode, which doesn't allow you to use your console. Download a mod that allows it. Survival mode console enabler is the one I used, and disabled after completing the quest through console commands.

Good luck, don't give up your game. Find the appropriate commands and you'll likely be able to continue!

That the crash from blood worms?

That mod helps that issue of mole rats and blood worms causing a crash from teleporting around.

I don't know what the problem with Mulligan mine is exactly, but I never get a ctd. The problem is that whenever I try to save or exit Mulligan's mine it gets stuck in an infinite loading screen. I downloaded that mod and it didn't solve the problem. It also says Scorpion rads and molerats and not blood worms.

Even though I was able to complete it through commands it doesn't solve the problem. Also that location has three quests which are depended on that location. Cappy in a haystack, Grand Tour and the one with the medaillons. Especially the cappy in a haystack is an important one for the story of Nuka-World, as without it you can't progress the story with Sierra. Obviously it's possible to complete those two as well through commands but that kind of sucks. So hopefully someone has an answer!

I thought it cued the blood worm problem as well. Try searching for a blood worm fix similar to that then?

That infinite load screen was what the molerats were doing to me before that mod. Ever since I put that mod in I aint seen it since. It went form every couple of new games to aint happened in about 30- new games.

I recently ran into molerats in a building once again and the same infinite loop occured. The location was the Shamrock bar or something to that extend in Boston. I downloaded the mod that was supposed to fix it but it hasn't done much for me. It seems to be an old bug that has been around for quite some time, and people speculate that once it occurs it's in your save and it's deal with it or start over. Hopefully I'm wrong. Fortunately it seems to me that most locations don't have molerats, blood worms or scorpions that are inside a building. Having a mod that removes them entirely or make them visible at all time and they can't teleport perhaps would be a good thing.

Having had the bug multiple times in multiples games. I think it was about 1 in 3 games would get the bug. After I installed that mod I aint seen it again in well over a year.

You could be right the error is already baked into the save. Since when I use dot have the bug a lot I would conduct a "molerat test" right away to know whether or not to toss the save.

This worked for me at Mad Mulligans. I was collecting Cappys, when I found the one on the shed, tried to quick save and game would just lock up. Could not exit or quickload. Had to REBOOT. Also I found that when using "killall" to fix this, I had to unequip my "Cappy Glasses" and then re-equip or found Cappys would not register and couldn't be saved. Had similar problem going into basement of area next to the market where the cages are. Thank you Zano!

It must be somehow connected to that area with infested brahmin, I could quicksave in the entrance, but whenever the brahmin popped ♥♥♥♥ went south.
Killall works but there's a bottle cap symbol on the wall for another quest so will try to run around with the disable tool.

YUP, Pretty sure this thread is long gona but if you ever happen to stumble down here am sure the issue is somehow caused by the brahmin corprses with blood worms inside them popping out, if you are able to walk around them or TCL around you can go about the location just fine, just remember not to trigger a single burst I guess

This is a mod that will fix this permanently, it disables the teleporting of the burrowing enemies (they still spawn and you still fight them). So glad I found this
