I had some die but that's probably because I brought some to the glowing sea since I'm trying to make a habitable settlment there. All settlers need rad suits, otherwise they'll get knocked down.
Using a settle-anywhere mod? I was under the impression that NPCs didn't take environmental rad damage.
As far as the dead Brahmin goes, I haven't had any attacks and.it was in Sanctuary, nowhere near any rads. All I can think of is either random glitch or the fact that I didn't have any settlers yet. Do Brahmin need food?
Solution is to have multiple feed troughs and space them out. One for every two Brahmin, plus one extra seems to be the magic number.
I've got Kelly camped out permanently right down the road and she has a new one for sale every time I walk by, so even easier.
