So I cant get Inside Job quest from Sturges anymore? Spoilers ...

I gave the scanned holotape to Ingram, and didnt know at all that I could have given it to Sturges in order to proceed with the minutemen questline.

What options do I have if I want to get the Inside Job quest? I tried stealing the Holotape from Ingram, but Sturges is not accepting me or giving me any messages in order to start the quest. I just want to get the best ending without making one of the factions my enemy.

I knwo this is an old post, but a year later I'm facing the same issue. I built the transporter with the railroad, am now banished from the institute, and still have the "Inside Job" quest, but Sturges won't trigger the correct convo. I tried to pick pocket Tinker Tom but he doesn't have the holotape on him. Am I hosed?

I think you are. I did my research at the time and apparently there was no way to trigger the quest if you didnt talk to him before doing other main quests.
At the end I got stuck with the Institute ending ... oh well.
