Nuka World main quest is just plain broken. (SPOILERS)
So, I was one of the many, or maybe not so many, who decided to be good......

...and kill everyone.

Well, I followed the quest to set the slaves free and kill everyone from the three raider gangs in Nuka Town. After that was done, and I returned to the doctor in the marketplace, she happily thanked me and that was it. No main quest. After 2 hours of playing Nuka World, I was effectively done with no more quests to complete.

I'm guessing in order to get the main quest, you need to complete the quest where you meet Shank. I never got that quest, and when I began killing gang leaders, Shank attacked me and got dropped like a rock.

So I did what every other reasonable ex-Vault dweller would've done and just explored the rest of the park on my own. After 27 hours and having cleared the entire rest of the park of bad guys, I again had zero quests in my journal.

During this time, I had spent 3+ hours looking for the 35th Star Core in Galaxy Zone, and finally decided to check the interwebs to see where the heck this final Star Core was hiding. Turns out, you need to turn the main power back on at the Power Plant in order to find it.

I was literally like, "U wot mate? There's a freaking power plant here somewhere?" Turns out, the main quest would've directed me to that long, long before this point and the entire DLC is a much more enjoyable experience because of it. But I guess Bethesda doesn't really want you to play this way, so suck it if you try.

My question is, why bother putting that quest line in the game then. Just leave it out and don't waste my time with it. Either that, or make Shank an unkillable quest giver.

I still enjoyed Nuka World a lot, but man this path of play made it cheesy as hell.

Especially if you go with the Raider Ending - the Power Play quest is broken. You can pull the "Good Ending" to finish the game ...but that is rather crap in my oppinion. ;)

Seems the only way to get the full Nuka World benefit is to be a prick and attack your own settlements, pissing off Garvy and literally destroying what you worked so hard to build. That might be a path to take with a new character but personally, my lvl 156 good girl (mostly) is just gonna keep killing raiders.

It's actually not that bad of an ending, for a) you have to sacrifice the promise of gang perks etc to uphold your character's morals, creating a dilemma on the level many felt was missing from the base game. B) most of the weapons (cito's slugger, nuka weapons, bleeding blade, splattercannon) can be acquired without the need for raiders.

And as soon as you turn in 'Open season', 'turn on Park main power' appears in your misc quest-log. You might not have noticed, it's not a main quest.. but it appears all the same, and you can track the objective to the power plant.

You'll lose settlement building ability in settlements you threaten to supply you, and as for the minute men, happy hunting boss.

I'm currently a Lvl 202 railroad *cough cough* domestic terrorists *cough* seeing what synths were capable back in far harbor really messed me up man, tried the zealot life... Brought those guys to Atom I did. This whole raiding thing though, I think I've got it down to a science.

Keep a front farm with say 13 beds.
I did a little renovating at finch farm, when more than 13 settlers arrive I send the over flow to a settlement I plan on threatening into a supply deal.
It important that you build all you can/need for them to be able to supply and defend for themselves because once you threaten them you'll no longer be allied so you won't be able to build.
Once you've got a couple mutfruit farms going you can build/raid new gang outposts for your raiders without them running out of food.
Bing bang boom the commonwealth is covered in bloody spikes and tribute boxes.

Power Play quest isn't broken for me. Worked just fine with both the Raiders side and Good side. No issues at all. Just saying...

The Power Play quest however is different for the good side. It's literally just a misc objection instead of a normal quest. So check your misc section just in case.

Also, if you didn't found the power plant then chances are, there is some side stuff you have missed. I recommend exploring the wasteland around Nuka World. You'll find quite an handful of nice little stuff.

Ah, checked the Misc pile of quests in my journal and there it was. Pfft. The second to last thing I did in Nuka World was turn on the lights. The last thing I did was turn them back off again when I left.
