Playing survival on nuka world is absolutely brutal
So essentially I just made my way through the gauntlet, to find that there isn't a single proper bed in the entire place, only sleeping bags very far away from each other. For those that don't know, you can only sleep three hours on a sleeping bag, and you need seven hours to be fully rested, so basically going through I've been getting so tired that now I'm fighting overboss colter while incapacitated and with only the deliverer, and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to turn down to very hard as this fight is basically impossible.
Pro tip to anyone coming to nuka world on survival; get ample rest before even thinking about going, and make sure to go through fairly quickly with plenty of nuka cola (caffeine), and bring your best weapon. Good luck

And I was planning to play it just now with my character at lvl 30...What level you suggest then? And what to bring other than water?
I have yet to start it for the first time...
Depends on your build, if you are playing stealth sniper, late 40s is probably ok

Anything else, I would say 50s
Atm playing with a squishy vats gunslinger...I fear i'll get 1 shot by an ant in there...

Yeah, you are really going to need to wait a bit longer
Yeah and I get the feeling I lost 1 hour of play last night.... I had to go to bed but I get the feeling the quit save failed. I clicked confirm thinking it would go to menu but was suddenly looking at my desktop... I'm about to find out.
FKN FCK! Exit save failed! Grrr....
I made a new char days before Nuka World, now lvl 87 or someting, anyway, I went there when it was releaed, was lvl 33, I could not even get through the gauntlet because I had no lockpicking skills and the wrong follower with me. So I went back, level up to 44 or so, got to the OverBoss and got oneshoot in my face instantly, do it again, now I know how its done its simple. This time I wait inside, make him come to the door then spray him down fast, and Melee him to death in 2 or 3 hits. Melee is super OP btw... geez..

There is beds in the gauntlet, several, but really hidden.

Worst part about playing this on survival was not that tho... its the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RUNNING you have to do between Nuka World and Commonwealth... drove me insane... I've done most of the legwork now thankfully but just like so many other bethesda DLC's in the past you often dont wanna do them more then once... and thats sad becase I got more characters... (ALOT MORE... lvl 90+ xD ) ... (I have a problem, I know...=)

Nuka World is a cool idea but the way the system is put in place is real bad and annoying, I almost gave up on it several times. Think Preston was bad? This is WAY worse...

My current build is, Melee, and rifle, ghoulish and cannibal, its an evil girl this one, never done that before so its abit different to my other characters. I have done 1 melee build but gave up on malee when I died alot from exploding robots, now you can survive even the nukes with some simple armor upgrades that reduce explotion damage, I did not know it was so effective but it works. :) So I dont die now when I melee a sentry for example or leg. robots. :D

Just did the gauntlet, Good fight at 175, made it to the base in the mountain and it crashed before I went to sleep. Not pleased. At all. My own fault for not looking for a bed sooner but its a shame that the deadliest threat so far is still the game itself.
It is hardcore, I did it on lvl 50 survival, gauntlet was easy but this *****robots and ghouls+rads

That's my build as well lol, 1 endurance although the ants really aren't a problem
Didnt have much troubles with this fight, just used all the chems popping jet repeatedly from start to finish :P

Also there is actually a key for every expert lock in the gauntlet that is required to progress. In the gas-room for example there is a key stuck in the lock of the broken door in the backroom.

Yep I ended up beating him by just popping jet continually along with psycho and he only actually took about a clip from my deliverer, chems really are a lifesaver when you're stuck
The Gauntlet/Overboss were challenging, but fun. I completed it at level 33 with a gunslinger/explosives build. I used the deliverer pistol, psychojet, nuka quantum and nuka victory. Because of the psychojet and nuka drinks, I basically had full health, full action points and ample time to kill the Overboss with the deliverer pistol. (of course, I first disabled his power armor with the water gun)

I went into Nuka World at level 35 on Survival. Not many, if any problems. Melee/ranged build. Just under maxed riflemen and gunslinger perks. I always wore Power Armor and used Jet and Psycho to a fair degree. Once I disabled the Nukatrons in Galactic Zone, it was even smoother sailing. Still enjoyable though.

Fallout 4 has been a hard game to balance.
With the weapon customization. DR system, and Ballistic Weave it's impossible to balance. Skyrim had similar problems really, you could make yourself GODLY if you invested time in smithing, potion making and alchemy. This game is no different.

Really wish they restricted weapon customization to minor things. Like range, accuracy, magazine size, rate of fire, not stuff like increased damage, etc. They could of introduced a DT system like NV had, with the modular armor system it would of made the game so much more fun. Say armor gave DT protection to that part of the body only. They could of then added different types of armor. Like EDT (ET), ST and DT. ET Energy Damage Threshold, ST Shock Damage Threshold (blunt weapons and explosives = Shock Damage, Shock will go through plate armor like metal and power armor to an extent). Then Traditional DT, which is pretty much all bullet like weapons/guns. All armor would of had a variation of those. Padded Armor like those of Diamond City or Vaultech Securty would of equalled high ST for example. Institute High ET, leather variants high ST mild EDT and low DT, etc. Combat would of been mild DT/ST for example. Or EDT could just be removed and all energy weapons would have some DT penetration instead, at the cost of "Range" and no Silence capability.

If that was all done I think the game would of been a lot more fun.

If any thing they could of added a weapon damage modifier capability based on ammunition. Rechamber the 10mm to fire .38 or.45 for example. Would increase/lower damage, and also give players the ability to use up stockpiles of ammunition without carrying different weapons, just carry a few mod kits with you and use them at workbenches you come across in the waste.

Problem with the game is players can do triple diget damage. While have 2-3x tripal diget DR. Who needs power armor right? lol

I found lvl 112-117 on V-hard interesting for nuka world..

My explosive combat shotgun felt like it wasn't a legendary.. or maybe a crippling/staggering legendary at best..
I found myself exposed to rads more often than I was for far harbor..
The loot/goodies they offered was good, but I felt the best weapons were geared towards melee, with the exception of the quantum thirst zapper and the bugged gatling laser.

I come to Nuka world at lv 30, so far I conquered 3 area, 4 include USA and hubologist quest line. (survival)

Btw what is the requirement to make quantum mod thirst zapper?
