New DLC/mod Vault 1080 made by Nvidia.
I don't really know when it came out and I say DLC/mod because its made by Nvidia GeForce to show off the capabilities of their new video cards. I saw an add for it while downloading an update driver for my GeForce 1070. Being Nvidia its going to be better then your average mod and its going to conform to the game as much as any other Bethesdia DLC. Its said it was large and could be found on the bethesdia mods website. So I say its more of a DLC then a mod. And its free!
If anybody has downloaded it please leave a review.

I will try it for my brand new Gtx 1060..i tell you then

I tried it out and it was alright, simple dungeon crawl with a small amount of story to it, the "special lighting" are just well placed light sources to show off things such as the god rays.

There are some issues though:
- Despite being "Vault 1080" they reused assets from other vaults, so the door iirc was vault 114, some vault suits were 111 etc.
- Lots of uninteractable containers, stuff that's normally lootable just doesn't have a prompt
- Interacting with the vault door controls (not required) can break VATS, needed console to fix.
- Framerate on a 970 plumetted to less than 30 fps at one point, nowhere else in game would dip below 50, so that was a surprise.

Otherwise it was worth my time, i enjoyed it.

the Godrays are the most demanding in this game, its probably just a simple test to show off the performance of the GTX 1080, hense why its named Vault 1080, more of like a marketing thing

I did an INI edit to disable them for better performance since I'm on a GTX 770 currently, I'm gonna get a GTX 1060 soon

Its definatly a marketing tool. I was just wondering is it a better quality mod like i said, "DLC quality" or just another mod? I was hoping it was more since it came from Nvidia and hopefully was "passed" by Bethesdia before being released.

Considering someone was probably paid for their time to make it, it'll probably be of a slightly better breed of mod, but I don't think it should be treated differently than a community mod, nor should it be called "DLC." That's implying Bethesda had an influence in its creation, which I presume isn't the case any more than any mod on Nexus.
I wouldn't call it DLC level at all. It was a good play through though.

I'm not sure if it's avalible on Nexus. Nvidia only mentioned the Bethesdia site. And I'm asumming since Fallout 4 and Bethesdia's name was used in advertisement for Nvidia's graphics card some kind of deal was made between the two and the "mod" was cleared by Bethesdia making it part of the "game cannon" and there for "DLC".

The mod looks great <3 It needs ALOT of work though. Lots of containers are empty (Even with eprks) And some containers are static and cant be looted. The atmosphere is realling spooky, and the custom music to go with it is great to. I havent completed the mod yet, Im just enjoying my self. I used the BethINI program, and set my settings to High on my GeForce GTX 970M, and I hardly get any FPs drops <3

Seemed like someones first attempt at a mod. Didn't think it was worth downloading. Just another claustrophobic vault full of ghouls with the usual sad back story. The lighting effects were lost on me as I had to use my power armor light to see anything. Probably best played at night in a pitch black room.

Yeah but a lot of people like exploring vaults. I'm just surprise it wasn't more publisied or at least mentioned in the news page on Steam for the game.

Vault 1080 broke my Vats, I used the console command

It was terrible. As mentioned, the manually inserted lighting spot killed performance even on 1060 thru to 1080 cards (I had 1060 and another guy with 1080 also get fps down to 30). The beginning was ok in the church with promising new music. And then the vault itself is an embarrassment. Got money to voice NPC why not do some voice for the main character? The church music was atmospheric but the vault itself is completely silent? Also bugs. And just ghouls.

1080s hitting 30 doesnt seem right... my 1070 only drops into the 40s with everything as high as itll go in the launcher....
where can i downlaoded the 1080 mod?
