Found the 35th Star Core ***SPOILER***
Found the Star Core WITHOUT restoring power to Nuka World. I did not get or complete the Power Play quest. I did not enter the Power Plant (westernmost part of Nuka World). I had 34 Star Cores when I started the Trip to the Star quest. Star Control Terminal confirmed that I have 34 cores and the last one is in the Galaxy ground area. However, I found it in the Nuka-World Junkyard (Trip to the Star quest). Install the 35th core and I was able to get access to the power amour. However, there still no power elsewhere.

Earlier I had no success in talking to Shank to give me the Power Play quest; also, talked to Gage, and all he wanted was to join me which I opted out for Ada. My concern is: Have I screwed up the remaining and subsequent quests?

take over the Galactic Zone while keeping its robots intact
I used the Robot Expert perk to run up to every robot like a maniac, plug in my Pip-Boy to hack them, then shut them down.
I only had to destroy the animatronic alien turret traps.
By gathering sufficient star cores ahead of time, I can make a run straight for the star control mainframe and shut them all down at once. So much the same, but as a once-off with a large preparation time.

It's just the amount of time that takes which is annoying, even with the help of the respawning junkyard core and running a circuit past the Grandchester mansion that helps to reset it. But I like to make sure I don't risk losing even a single robot.
