"Fallout 4 Stopped working" on launch fix
So, I've seen a lot of people with this issue, especially with machines that should run the game. I purchased a new laptop that blow's my desktop out of the water, and: I can play it on Medium-High on my desktop. Alas, when I initially launched the game, I got the annoying error: "Fallout 4 Stopped Working" Crash. Upon searching, I couldn't find anyone who helped with the issue other than belittleing the poster.

I have a possible fix to try:

When the splash screen launches, go into "options", and modify the resolution until it eventually works with your machine. Alternatively, to see if it actually works prior to messing with resolution. Click the "Windowed" option, and attempt to run the game, if it runs. Then modify the crap out of the resolution until the game works.

As I said, it worked for me/

Laptop Specs:
6th gen i5
8GB RAM
4GB Dedicated GPU

For those of you who still did not find a solution to this issue. I found on another post and it worked for me so I am sharing here.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012
In that folder there should be 2 vcredist.exe files run both of them separately. You should have the option to "Repair" if it is already installed. Afterwards Restart computer and game should work if you had the problem I was having.

I used the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012 solution, disconnected my second display and the game started correctly. Thanks StalkedByDeath !

I found that if I start FO4 from the GeForce Experience Home>Games>FO4>Play... Instead of from the Vortex Mod Manager, without using the F4SE... The problem vanishes.
Haven't had the game crash once since doing this.
Conclusion: either an issue with Vortex or the FO4 Script Extender.
I don't care which one. I just know my game works well now, and I'm happy.
