What happens if I go to Nuka World before finishing the main story
So I'm thinking of going to Nuka World on my survival playthrough, however I've not finished the main story yet and I'd like to know if there are any effects on the commonwealth if I go there now.

If you play for the Minutemen and you want their ending, you should either not proceed with the Raider quest line, or you should get that ending before doing that questline, since Preston will turn red if you raid the Commonwealth.

I talked to Preston after the raider questline and I managed to keep him non-hostile by dialogue, but he said that he will never trust me again and had to promise him that I will stop helping the raiders, so I guess there goes my minuteman ending if I continue to capture settlements for raiders.
I am now thinking that I may still be able to side with the traders as that quest is still in my quest list and will kill all raider leaders now after I did their quests

So I can turn against the raiders if I want?

You could, but It'l llock you out of 80% of the story content, the rest you'll have is the park to yourself after you turn the power back on and that's about it.
The safest way is to kill the raider leaders with the Open Season quest, but gage will refuse to talk to you.

well worse gage was hostile I left him in the commonwealth (the slog) upon retaking it he got hostile had to kill him. I did the raider quests retake the park setup raider camps in the commonwealth and the take the whole lot out (was bored).

I tried killing all raider leaders and raiders after doing the main nuka world quest, but its boring, siding with the traders and doing the open season quest is not revarding at all and Preston hated me still anyway
