Nuka World : I don't understand this Raiders-settlement thing
Hi

[some might consider this a spoiler - you never know]

I've almost finished Nuka World and I've arrived at the point when I'm supposed to raid my own settlements and I'm kinda lost here :

1) I've alreday put raiders in two settlements and they are basically starving. It's made very clear that raiders don't like to produce food (you can assign them to crops but their happiness drops) so they need to racket the rest of the MM settlements. But when you convince/force another settlement to give them food you lose control over it, you can't build on it any more, and it doesn't look like something you can cancel. Are food-supply-for-raiders-settlements permanently lost ?

2) Is there a way to reconquer a settlement for the minutemen ? I've tried killing every raiders in the settlement, it works but then the whole gang turns hostile. Is there a way to reverse what has been done during "Home Sweet Home" ?

3) What are these Nuka-World radio things for ? I was led to believe it intimidates settlements around so you can ask them for food and stuff, but that doesn't seem to be it

4) What if I want raiders in every settlements in the commonwealth ? are they all going to starve because there won't be anyone left to give them food or is there some kind of trick I missed ?

Thanks in advance for any answer !

1) Yes. If you force a settlement to provide supplies for a raider outpost, then you will permanently lose control of that settlement.

2) Not that I've seen, no.

4) If you have the Automatron DLC, try making some cheap robots and assign them to farming in your raider settlements. I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen a few people claim that it works for providing food in raider outposts.

Okay then, thanks. I guess some Nukatrons just got themselves a job
It is ridiculous how little thought was put into this part of the DLC. It almost feels like someone at Bethesda threw it in there because of the public's expectations after watching the first teasers.

What about using slaves? Nope. Players can't enslave NPCs to themselves. What about sending a supply line there? Nope. Doesn't work. Seriously, nothing in any previous Bethesda game has made me both more furious and filled with a desire to learn how to create mods.

i just took over the entire commonwealth with minite men lol

and now im raiding all my settlements with 200 defense................

and robot defenders lol
... Why would any settler at any non-raider, non-'coerced' settlement ever deliver goods to a Raider SEttlement, I'm sure they'd just tell the general to go to heck if they were ordered to do so, and they sure wouldn't let you asign robots to take goods from their home to RAiders either.

That said not being able to enslave settlers for raider settlements is kinda.. I guess dumb, since that's a big part of being an evil jackhole.

Raider outpost automaticaly share resources. You can make automatron robots and assign them to supply lines job so you can "connect" your normal settlements with raider outposts.

As for the original Question: You can gain back control over ANY raider outposts as well as vassals after completing open season. And do some fiddling. SPOILERS ahead:
