Inb4 Savescum utopia.
But since it relies entirely on a list of randomized prizes, most of which can be purchased at normal vendors for far less time and money, it's mostly just a novelty. Especially given how poorly most of the arcade games work, and how absurdly high the ticket requirements for the prizes tend to be.
It's a shame, because I was actually pretty keen on trying out the carnival games when I first saw them in the trailer.
Is it?
If that's the case, then it does make it much more appealing!
I've got about sixty-thousand tickets saved up, so I suppose I should go take a look!
Yeah, it's not perfect. But I remember one of the complaints about Nuka-Cade is that it was totally usless. The fact that it dispenses legendaries makes it pretty useful.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather kill enemies for my Legendaries, but say you want to guarantee a legendary piece of the new Raider Armor, Nuka cade usually stocks one all the time at T5. Plus you know at least what armor slot it'll be, so no more running around with 50 Left Legs.
Did you not check my Screenshot? I plopped out an Assassin's Revolver from the 10k "Pipe Revolver" prize in T5. I'll admit, I could have faked it by just dumping an Assassins's Pipe Revolver there for lulz, but I guess when more people come to corroborate this, I'll be vindicated.
I wonder why we never discovered this sooner....
You can get over a million tickets in about 10 minutes if you do hoop shoots, grab the ball, and drive it in and out of the hoop, up and down, with about 70,000 each play
(already added an arcade to dry gulch).
im hoping theres no range limiter...
does the prize payout system have a fixed list like the manufacturing machines? or is it totally random from basically a qasmoke chest? either way, its a good money sink, and would be fun to do at your other settlements.
(nice catch on the weapon).
i can hit up to 800 with the shooting range though....
Yeah, I see the theory, but I never got that to work. Since the game registers just a hit on the hoop as a "Score" you should be able to dupe the phsycis by rattling the ball, but I think maybe they put a score delay in there with that 1.3mb patch? lol
So far only the shooting range nets me a worthwhile haul.
See, I was inspired to try because of your logic. "Why would they make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pipe revolver cost more than the reasonably useful Acid Soaker?" So I gave it a shot. What's more, there's more expensive things too, up to 17k I've seen. I wonder if their Legendary modifer works like Minecraft, where you can "Deduce" the effect by the cost.
Or grab the pipe pistol, upgrade it to Drum Mag,and go wild.
I don't have any issue hitting everything as long as I have some kind of Quick mag. Though the max score is kind of inconsistent. I can hit all targets and get 9200 and then hit all targets again and get 9600, so maybe there's a speed element there?
If it's Chosen on Dispensed then people could just Save and then Dispense repeatedly.......
Like what people did(and proboly still do) with Far Harbor End Reward Chest.
Because i used a Explosive Radium Rifle on it,and got worthless score because the explosions kept knocking everything down.
