X-01 power armor in Nuka World
Ok this has been bugging me since I found it, there is a full set of mark V X-01 power armor you can always find 100% of the time in Nuka World. Now normally something like this wouoldn't bug me, maybe the enclave put it there or raiders didn't know what to do with it and placed it there but then I found a holotape from before the bombs fell that refrenced it. WTH?

Now I realise some people say that X-01 PA was being worked on pre-bombs but that doesn't explain why they would leave experimental military technology out for the public to see (especially with how paranoid the government was).

Nuka World was working in close concert with the military, so they had a whole bunch of prototype stuff integrated into the displays throughout the park (hell Galaxy World even has an arena where they were supposed to fit prototype robots against each other for the guests' amusement.

The same reason you the exo military frames on the science channel. The military doesn't build anything other then bridges. The suit would be owned by a corporation with strong military ties, they would be the ones showing it off, usually at military expose like nuka world.

I am fully aware of this, still doesn't make sense to put it out on display considering they were paranoid, oh and also the fact that according to the wiki X-01 wasn't built until post war by the enclave.

I personally use the rule of immerions vs programming limits. Maybe the X01 you find isn't really X01 but an experimental suit they had; call it the RX4. However, because of modeling and programming, they just drop in a set of X01. It's why you find 'jet' in places like Vaults. It isn't Jet per say, bu rather a drug that acts like Jet.

I could justify that - The Jet part, for Fallout 3. Not a great selection of drugs, but for F4, Bethesda went out of their way to introduce a couple of new drugs - Day Tripper seemingly being the narcotic of choice, and yet... They hardly place the new ones, letting you find Jet all over the shop. Thats just plain laziness.

Here's how I look at jet, do I believe a chem sniffing teenage braggart or computer terminals. On the X01, it was no longer the pinnacle of technology, if anything the US wanted China to think we where just gonna keep building power armor. If you look to Big MT the future was combat stealth suits, invisibility and armor. But it seems only the SS has the brains to strap a stealth boy to his power armor.....

Really? I've found 2 empty frames in the areas outside of Nuka World so far. Maybe it's my mods...

This is a set piece of it, I am keeping this as vague as possible to avoid spoilers.

Makes perfect sense like they said, its more then likely not goverment owned, nuka worked with the goverment. Its probaly a model for display use the company who makes the armor built specail for nuka world to show off. I mean come the hell on, the do this all the time, when hummers were new I seen them make tons of miltary grade ones and paint them with decals to promote any thing they wanted if they could afford the manfuctuirng price or promote the sale to civilians. I mean fire departments, radio shows any one with the cash or connections had one with their name on side of it.

Same thing hear big huge company and power armor was bad ass, and iconic to the amrerican culture so they paid out the nose more then likely and used connectiosn to get a legit functioning set to paint and put on display. I mean in 50s or whatever this game series is based on they did that all the time you could rent or buy a tank for your movies and ♥♥♥♥ form the miltary, it helped promote uncle sam so they were all for it. I mean even to this day people rent tanks like shermans to put banners and ♥♥♥♥ on them for events.

Also the nukes hit so fast how would they recall it? I mean if there was tons of time to prep they could in a pinch bought that armor form nuka, but there wasn't no time and no shortage of power armor either. I mean best case ex miltary group would tried to loot it, but if you check the stuff they lost contact with the goverment early on, there was no new orders sent out to secure remaining armor any one did that would been a looter or a rogue general.

But you're forgetting, the X-01 series wasn't built yet according to the wiki and even in-game loading screens.

Or.. It's literally just there as a "reward item", bethesda has done some lousey jobs with the lore before, this is probably, most likely another one.

Actually, the power armor should not exist AT ALL, the x-01's where invented by the enclave AFTER the bombs fell. Finding them in nuka world is like opening an ancient Egyptian tomb and finding a mac book pro with hieroglyphs on it. I dont think the developers know their own lore.

Maybe, just maybe, this armor was a prototype invented before the war and shown to the public to attract more persons into joining the military (the plans propably were saved on a computer by that time) but when the bombs fell, the plans aswell as the other armors were lost, so the Enclave and/or Institute re-invented it based on knowledge and memories of the pre-war plans.

As i said, maybe...
