Nuka World - The Gauntlet - What It Did Right and What It Did Wrong
Ok, the Gauntlet, I found to be really unique. A nice slap in the face to players who may have thought, "ohh new dlc? recommend level 30? KEK! I'm level 83!" But a few complaints, it kinda seems like it was made so you could "out smart it." Hence the disarmable traps, lock pickable doors, and etc. So I have a few questions about two things I found a bit strange...

1. Why is it that in the first room, even if I see the turrets from the stairs (for ♥♥♥♥sake they make noise and they have lights on them!) Some of them wont die, until I trigger them and they start shooting? I could get a few with a well placed grenade (thank god for Demolitions Expert), But I couldn't get any of the other ones hanging off the walls, EVEN IF they were in the blast radius.

2. In the Gas Room, if you happen to bring one of the gas masks, it doesn't help you breathe... Isn't that the whole point of a Gas Mask? To help you survive... I dunno gas? TBH I was a bit stupified when I walked in, heard about the gas. Thought to myself "ohh! I can use my gas mask I brought along!" You know, for radiation... and gas.To find out... uhh no... sorry guy. It doesn't help.

But that's enough about what it got wrong, heres a few things I loved.

1. The tongue in cheek humor, such as the terminal in the beginning with the options about how you were going to die. That gave me a nice chuckle.

2. You could outsmart a good amount of traps. See a room with mines and explosives? Chuck a nade, and run away! It'll clear it for you.

3. The three doors, kinda felt grating with how it was literally "choose wrong and you will die." And there weren't any clues, so it was kinda funny about how there was just a Monkey behind one.

4. More about doors, lockpicking let you skip some stuff. FInally lockpick skills are useful outside of... "well there is a box and I want what is inside the box."

5. It was the biggest challenge to go through as a survival player... I mean REALLY BIG!!! There wasn't a bed near it... so I had to ride the monorail all the way back. Mumbling and grumbling. You actually felt pressured. Now I can probably assume there were a few survival players who hated this. BUT, it was still kinda fun with the payoff.

6. Speaking of the payoff, squirting a dude in power armor to kill him. ♥♥♥♥ING HILARIOUS!

7. Just kind of a dumb thing, but I wanted to see if there was a reload animation on the Thrist Zapper. TURNS OUT after 999 shots, you pour a bottle o Nuka down into it c:

But that's enough from me, what did you guys think about it? Was it a good start for Nuka World, or did you dislike it?

The gauntlets bugged atm, invisible doors that shouldnt be there due to script errors. turrets will fall under script error too due to the way the gauntlet is designed. Theres a car park in main game with a similar style, same run arounds but was done far better. With the gauntlet being inside and out in several locations its a bit screwy.

Fun but limited in design due to need for console limitations.

1 Terminal was funny lol

2 Yeah traps were a bit easy.

3 Door 1 was open for me, spoilt :/

4 :/

5 Armored missile super heroin, didnt scratch me lol. Good to practice my disarming tactics though. (again car park in main game, harder)

6 I thought that was daft tbh, dodgem work in rain, power armor works with shells radiation and rain going off around it.. "super power unbeatable armor" beaten by water pistol.. silly fun, just meh. Prefered a out the box way to beat him. Sycopathic midget badger or something.

Nuka world was a decent dlc, same runnning about as far harbor but less annoying. Simple and a bit quirky. worth discount season pass price. not full price. :)

should eb fixed as soon as mods gets updated, assuming its not more bugs stemming from ahrdcoded "features" that modders cant fix, then we have to wait for Bethesda to bugfix, which could be forever, sicne they are only like, 1/3 of the way through the bug list from vanilla

2. Unlike Metro 2033/34 the War is over 200 years ago. All gas filter expired and gas mask are used for cosmetics. In metro the main character was born above ground, no? Also in fallout people live with rad and other hazard without a care so they never thought about making more filters.

Also I have hundred of mods and zero bug in gauntlet.

A side note, I decided to shoot Gage. (BY ACCIDENT I SWEAR). Walking outside and just getting chewed apart time after time was the most fun I've had. So if you're ever bored in Nuka World. Just go up to the nearest Raider, and pop a lil .45 into their ass.
