Carla The Trader Now Has a Russian Or Romanian Name?

I met Carla on the road just after starting Fallout 4 again for the 20th or so time. Something weird when I highlight her. It comes up with a Russian or Romanian name instead of "Trashcan Carla". It says "Kapna Ypha". WTF? Anyone else who has started the game again recently experience this? Hers is the only name that comes up like that. Every other NPC has the correct name. Weird.

Poor Carla. I had to shoot her Brahmin because she spawned on the roof of the main house in Sanctuary and the noise was deafening and endless.

Did you start the game in that language? There are no russian/romanian voice lines, only english, french, and german I think. Other languages are supported through subtitles and menus only.

No. Started the game as usual. It wasn't her voice lines. She speaks in English and hers is the only name that's like that. That's the only instance in the entire game. Why just that one name?

Have you installed a mod recently? Mods that modify specific elements will overwrite your locale depending on the language the mod was created from (e.g. my game's in French and modded items are in English consistently)

I've installed lots of mods recently. Why would it only be her name? No other name or object or line is in this language.

No mod I have installed had anything to do with settlements or trading. Nothing has been changed in her inventory (other than the random stuff) Other vendors would have been affected too, if that was the case. Their names are normal.

You can use the console to quickly move a brahmin stuck in or on buildings.

Open the console with ~ then point the mouse at the thing to be moved and click on it. Then type "moveto player" without the quotes into the console. Close the console and the brahmin will be right next to you. Works for settlers who get stuck on roofs too.

But if a mod did it, why only Carla? Why is her name the only thing that's changed?

UPDATE: I did some checking and Mama Murphy now has a Russian name as well. So, Chaosium, it looks like you are right. It must have been a mod that did it somehow. But I don't know why or how. So far, none of the male names like Preston or Sturges are any different.

Ah, OK. No worries. I've done similar. I killed Cricket once because she was clearly overdosed on chems and needed to be put out of my (not her) misery.

Did you download any Russian mods lately? There have been a lot of them on Nexus and elsewhere recently. One of them may not be playing nice with the others.

On a more serious note, if I was in your position, I'd recall what recent mods I installed before the name-change, as well as some of the older save files.

Firstly, does it affect all Carlas in all timelines? And what I mean by that is, is the name change still there even if you load up an older save file, or even start a new game?

And as Langkard wrote (reply before this one), look at the recent mod-pages, and check if any of them are... From Russia, with bugs.

Perhaps the bug is caused not by one mod on its own, but from two or more, causing conflicts or whatever. Or maybe it's just one mod, who knows. If I were in this position, I'd take a trial and error approach, while attempting to make a lot of inferences.

If I may, for those wondering, translating from the Cyrillic (Russian, Romanian, Ukrainian, etc); it is akin to "Caria Urna" or possibly (loosely) "Carla Uria"
