Are all Raider Bad? Are some raiders good?

Right after I stormed the FMS Northern Star to get the Agility Bobblehead, I saw a YouTube video that said they're harmless sailors who are shipwrecked.
The video said that what the "raiders" were saying was not the usual raider stuff in Norwegian; they were telling SS to get out of their home. The video also said that they didn't make any trouble for any of their neighbors... and come to think of it, the Warwicks complain of the Supermutants at the toy factory and not the Norwegian sailors.
Now I feel bad.

The answer is their all bad, but not all of them are irredeemable bad. Sadly there is no penal system outside Diamond City, so bullet in the head, if they don't immediately reform, is the only solution.

Well, game-wise, they cannot be 'converted' to settlers or friendlies (I haven't played raider from nuka world ever and have zero inclination to do so, but I'm not sure what this specific group would do) so yeah, raiders are always the bad guys.

That doesn't mean they're individually bad people, they have their reasons for doing what they do. Some of them are blinded by drugs or damaged by radiation, some are just psychotic or sociopaths that cannot be accommodated by society anyway.

It'd be a vastly different game if you could do what I'd always wanted to with them - make them border guards and keep other enemies occupied. if that's what they want to do, fight and kill or whatever, hey - here's a house you can live in at the edge of the territory and we'll give you food and whatever else you want but if you turn on us we will absolutely erase you. Go fight those other mobs that want to hurt us instead, you cannot hope to defeat (player character and their entire backup of institute, bos, mm, rr, whatever).

I would argue that everyone in fallout is a “bad guy” I mean each fallout game tries to make you look like the good guy but all your doing is being a anti hero throughout each game by shooting and killing everyone that gets in your way Including fallout 4 even if we say it’s for survival purposes it’s still in a way makes you the anti hero and some may argue that you can choose to be good and make good decisions which is true you can role play as a “good guy” but eventually you will have to kill a raider who is “just trying to survive” just like the player is so in a way you never are the protagonist in any of the games. So are the raiders good or bad they are just as bad as the player is I would argue.

if they shoot at you first they are bad enough.

they are special in that they don't speak english. so I'm pretty sure I've never seen them raiding farmsteads, that said I think they raided warwick farmstead according to that sites lore.

but if they raid farmsteads they are raiders so they are evil.

if they don't they aren't raiders.

killing a raider who kill people to survive doesn't make you a bad guy. rather a savior.

It doesn’t make you any better of a person in the game as you are killing people and raiders are killing people sure your killing arguably “Terrible people” but still it’s not the right thing to do I would argue.

if anything, the only really "bad" person is actually the Sole Survivor.

Raiders don't just kill for the sake of killing. Most of the time they simply -take- the resources, mostly to survive themselves, evidenced by the fact settlements exist before you came along. it's only when the settlers fight back that they do kill. You can't raid if there's no one to raid from....

The SS just walks in everywhere guns blazing, and ends the game having killed the population of boston in the name of "freedom" and "peace"

and raiders are mostly decerebrate because of jet and psycho abuse. they have no conscience nor remorse.

And that’s the beauty of fallout you don’t get to play as the “good guy” you are a survivor I’m not saying that what the raiders do is right nor am I saying what the lone survivor does is great either it would be better for the lone survivor in my opinion to mind their own business in this apocalyptic world Because again you aren’t the hero going around saving life’s in this harsh apocalyptic wasteland meaning you will have to kill and allow others to die just so you are able to survive in the wasteland it’s completely acceptable to be selfish when it comes to not helping others/defending oneself etc etc.

I donno. I'm thinking in the future I'm gonna try and knock off the bobble-head without killing all the sailors, or maybe just rush through in Power Armor, grab the bobble head, and jump off.

There is literally no, not one, "good guy" in Fallout 4. After 210 years, these worthless P'sOS can't even be bothered to sweep their floors or pick up the trash in their settlements...

It seems the answer to this question was YES, because there are no Horses in Fallout 4, likely all killed for being face-kicking baddies.
