Any solutions for missing vanilla AND modded settlement categories?

Having a problem where it seems like, well... pretty much every time I install a new workshop/settlement mod or even turn one off or on it shuffles many of the categories around.

Whether it be a vanilla category or a modded one, I lose many workshop menus often, and I noticed this happens often with Homemaker and other mods - people's workshops get scrambled, but has anyone found a way to reliably fix this, and get it all working?

I realize that there's probably some compatibility issues, but should there even be? Like Homemaker's page itself says, there shouldn't be any problems with other mods since it has it's entire own menus now...

The mods I'm using are - Homemaker, SKE, Settlement Supplies Expanded (downloaded after the issue started), Workshop Rearranged (also after), Settlement Keywords Expanded, Build Your Own Pool.

Minor mods - Colored Workshop Lights, Auto Doors, Radiation Cleaning, Looks Mirror, Solar Street Lights, Brighter Settlement Lights, Animated Mannequins, Colorful Bottle Lanterns (hasn't shown up once yet no matter what I change), Qman's Craftable Lanterns.



Is there anyway I can just sort of manually start over with the settlements menus, without having to reinstall my FO4 and all my mods. Like reset the vanilla ones entirely, without touching the modded ones, and then re-add the mods?

I realize that mods like "Missing Settlement Categories Fix" and "Workshop Menu Missing Tabs Fix" exist (not even sure which to use, or what is best), but I've read people say they just replace vanilla, if they even work at all or don't cause more issues, but then shuffle mod workshop menus around and whatnot...

If I were to uninstall all my settlement mods (hoping I get all the ones that actually affect my menus) and try either of these fixes, then reinstall the mods could it even remotely fix the problem? Or is there a better more modern solution that people have found to this issue at all?

Well like I said it happens even when I turn all mods off (now my power menu is just permanently gone from vanilla/all mods off), and/or any mods that can affect it. But I'll post a mod list nonetheless...

Tried all off, tried many combinations of the home/settlement specific mods and anything that might affect things... But still lots of things missing from the menus, particularly newer mod installations.

Like it seems like the problem is a permanent one (but randomly changes which menus based on what mods I have activated), doesnt really matter what mods I have installed 'currently', since the damage is already done.

Any ideas how I can fix this without potentially causing more problems?

Sure woulda been nice if I knew about this when I started modding!

But the real question is... can installing this now fix the problem I'm already having? Like I'm gonna download it and use it for the future, but what to do about my current issue, is it enough? =/

It should run itself once installed and you enter game and correct the menu.
I think there is a holotape still that you can force it to do a check.
It should also be placed last in your load order so it can overwrite other mod menus if needed. Create a rule or assign it to one of your last slots.

So I assume by "overwrite other mod menus if needed" you mean it will fix other broken workshop/settlement mods I've added that add menus and items too? So I should leave those on?

Or would it be better to just turn them all off, use this SMM to fix everything, then reinstall those other mods? Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean by what I put in quotes, and needing to create a rule (never done this before, not sure what it's for)

And you're certain there's no chances of this blowing up my game or deleting all my vanilla files or something, right? lol

Yeah and ... literally any of those mods that get into categories when it does so: 100% likely told you you'd need it in their Nexus Requirements.

Always always always read the requirements of every single mod you ever touch. It might require something you can't or don't want to use, or that's broken - always read the bug reports too.
