Keeping Spouse Alive.. (spoilers)

Starting new characters over and over makes me wish keeping your spouse alive was an option, as it is whether you keep synth kid shawn or not.
Not a requirement by any means, since losing them opens the player up to new romance.. but I wish it was an option to perhaps distract Kellog when he goes to shoot your bae, or something else that keeps Nate/Nora around for when you wake up.

Why? You'd still be determined to recover your child, so it wouldn't impact upon the rest of the main story, with exception to the voiced dialogue about losing your family (like conversing with shawn). As an RP option however it would be excellent, a pair of vengeful parents chasing down their child's abductor, while facing a challenging new world as a team, rather than alone.

I don't know about you, but having your spouse as a potential companion right out of the vault sounds pretty awesome.. perhaps OP, but could be balanced by not coming with a companion perk in the way dogmeat does. Speaking of dogmeat I could imagine fitting companion dialogue between you and the spouse such as 'We were talking about getting a dog, remember?' when 'adopting' dogmeat..

I know some people would have a problem with the idea since fallout is supposed to be about isolation, but as I said, an option rather than a forced choice.

I always hoped and still hope that there is a way to unfreeze her and heal her before she dies. I mean look how Fallout 4 turns out and some still wanted Nuka World to be a downer. Have they no shame? What is it called when a game treats its players abusively?

There is a group of videos where the guy breaks the games. He'll kill the wife and then use clipping to enter the vault without her. Or he'll not enter the vault in time (this one is cool.)
