Confused about power requirements for settlements
I've got a settlement that has 16 medium generators all in one building linked up together. From the building they come electricity wire comes out at one point to then power the entire settlement which at the moment consists of just a few lights. So I should be way over the power requirements of my settlement.

But for some reason my power level in the settlement menu is red. All my things are being powered sucesfully so I have no idea what's goin on?

A common issue is that the generators are not "registering" with the game. To fix this:

1) Store all generators in the WS
2) Place 1 generator down.
3) Wire it up.
4) Confirm your power rises by the appropriate amount.
3) Rinse and repeat.

The power level seems to be registering correctly as I somewhat copied your idea before bu individually powering off the generators and then powerring them back on. I read somewhere that it may be happening because what you actually have to do is wire items that require electricity to a generator of appropriate capacity and no more. So it I had 5 lights that required 1 power each, then I would be forced to wire those 5 to one medium generator and link it up to the same network and expect it to power yet another 5 lights. Instead I would have to seperate out the additional generator wiring to each additional amount of items that required power. If that's the case, that's just stupidityon an epic scale.

Figured it out! Turns out that even if you have plenty excess capacity, if you have just one item that requires electrcity in a settlement that for some reason isn't connected, the figure shows up in red.
