Scatter Laser
What is the point of the scatter laser mod for laser rifles? Does it make them act like a shotgun laser?

A laser shotgun with energy damage, less recoil, higher ammo cap, easier to find ammo, more range, and weighs less than a combot shotgun.

Doesn't much matter tho. Every variation of the shotgun in Fallout 4 sucks compared to using a little bit of aim and patience.

Well except for the explosive combat shotgun

Yeah like I want to spend 10 minutes searching for every little piece of loot that thing would send flying across the room. Also, in order to not insta-gib yourself at proper shotgun range with explosive ammo, you'll waste a bunch of shots.

Scatter Laser is ♥♥♥♥ lol. Use amplifier to cause it to go straight into whatever you're aiming at.

They've also got the wounding combat shotgun as a worthy alternative for those who don't like throwing loot everywhere. And you can get wounding lasers.
