- Head: Protecton Head + Basilisk Helm (This head is the most important aspect of this build. Each shot fired has a chance to paralyse enemies. The proc chance with a gatling laser is extremely high and I find myself oddly amused whenever I see legendary enemies just constantly falling over paralysed.)
- Torso: Robobrain Torso + Voltaic frame
- Arms: Sentry Arms + Hydraulic frame
- Hands: Dual unstable Laser Gatling Guns (This weapon is VERY important to this automatron build)
- Legs: Assaultron Legs + Mid Hydraulic frame + Left and Right Voltaic frame (VERY important, gives your automatron really nice battlefield maneuverability as you'll see it ducking, weaving, and strafing as it enters combat while the voltaic frames enhance your lasers dps.)
Extremely effective in Suvival/Very Hard.
I've done extensive testing with a plethora of automatron combinations against console spawned enemies in a private location and this one is King by a longshot.
Although the displayed damage will be a bit lower than some of the other weapon choices, the paralysis from the Basilisk helm will render any enemies you encounter defenseless as they fall over on their side while eating a hellfire of lasers to the face.

Sounds neat, but I play on a higher difficulty than survival with packs of 5+ mobs in groups of 3 packs or more. For that you need a LOT of destructive power, single target lockdown like that doesn't do much otherwise you can just use the ripper.
That is neat though, I didn't know about that head/mask combo.
This remembers me I must try new robot builds for once in a while.
But I can see that being a difference of preference; I'm more curious as to why you wouldn't use voltaic frames on the arms as well. Is it just a quest of the particular balance, or is there some other reason?
With Nuka World, you might also be able to upgrade the head to the Galactron space head. It seems to be just like the protectron one with higher defenses, though I'm not sure on what effect it has on engagement distance (since that's unstated in its description).
Yeah, the Quantom nuka blast fires pretty quick, is basically a rocket launcher, and does TONS of damage. And the best part is its classified as a sniper from what I can tell while having the fire rate of a normal cannon, so its very very accurite. And if it misses, well, its a rocket. do NOT use the Chery launcher. Yes its damage is higher, but it fires slower than a sniper and has very bad accuricy and very bad explosive range in comparison. Plus you lose the cool blue explosion.
Just remember, if you want a destructive robot, you NEED inspiration 1 so you don't die to your own robot. Ada can kill you with her nukes without it by accident. (Or if you glitch Curie, she makes for an even better robot. Same armor, same damage, but +500 hp.)
I never gave those new launchers a go. I ll try them.
