I usually kill him and put his body into the Auto-butcher, and throw the meat in (or near) Dogmeat's bowl. First time Garvey is useful.
It's different, get more gameplay out of with the O&R mod
with this mod will they go after the BOS?
if not by by Garvey
Will who go after the BOS?
Most quest mods and companion mods are pro-BOS. O&R you can but don't have to harasses BOS but you don't really go after the BOS, just kill a few (good looting, BOS). It has a companion mod, Project Valkyrie where you reform the BOS.
He's a real work of art. Bethesda went out of their way to make Garvey a craven coward. When you do the "Castle" quest he leaves SS in there to as bait to draw out the Mirelurk queen.
and you find dead MM from Quincy to Lexington that he's conned and got killed with his stupid suicide missions. I'm convinced Cassy Dalton (Far Harbor) is a spoof of his behavior.
2. Being sent all the way across the map to claim settlements rather than your speed.
3. The fact he completely ignores your need to find your child dog piling quests on you.
4. Preston gets mad if you join up with the BoS rather than viewing it as an opportunity.
5. Preston has no hate dialogue towards Gunners or Raiders.
6. Sturgis shows more leadership than him when the Quincy Monkeys are arguing.
7. As Senior Cinco said, he dialogue delivery is pretty flat and monotonous.
He's probably the butt of jokes because of all the "settlement has dialed 911" that happens constantly and his unwillingness to go investigate things himself, and him "ordering" around the SS. PG could be more developed if Beth could have done a story line where the General puts him in command and he grows in confidence and develops as a character, becoming a #2 right after Ronnie Shaw, but still a competent right-hand leader next to the General.
Allegedly, he's considered to be the Mastermind behind everything and is a Sociopath, able to force the SS to do anything, hence why some people hate his guts.
I just wish if you took the BoS side, Institute, or Raider Nuka World paths, you could kill PG, without having to console anyone as being non-essential...or by using mods. Not sure if the RR would want to assassinate PG unless he seriously got in the way, but I'm up for it.
I cannot stand companions that complain about picking up junk. Which if you are similar avoid the Ellen companion mod. Good story line, but after that back to the Dugout Inn she went.
For someone who has lost almost everything, and most of the people he's supposed to protect, he's awfully.. calm? about it.
The only annoying thing about him is he's so obsessed with settlements, yet never actually goes off to help them himself..
(they could have just spawned him with a random chance when you go to help the settlements he sends you to, like a 20% chance or something when not a companion - make it look like he's trying on his own as well)
1. Not evacuating the institute
2. Joining the Nukaworld Raiders
3. Joining the BoS
