Literally the most popular of all time mod on the Fallout 4 nexus page is a porn mod, and it sucks. Every single time I look up a mod theres always some stupid CBBE bodyslide preset with a similar name for some stupid reason, it sucks so much and I hate it. I can never look for Fallout 4 mods when I'm near my parents. There are no porn mods on the Fallout 4 mods page in the game but on the nexus page there are thousands. And I know you're saying "oh turn off the adult filter" and if you're actually saying that then you're wrong. Like literally I cannot look up a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing without seeing 40 porn mods. It is so infuriating.
It is the reason humankind has even made it this far since it is neccesary for reproduction.
The issue arises, or rather the moral issue, is when you treat a person solely as a means for a goal. Of which both men and woman are equally guilty and tbh men are mostly the victim of.
Not only by woman but also by other men.
The fact that woman are mostly portraited as victims of this (unconscious) bias is both objectification of both men and woman.
Objectification is a natural process for the human mind to make things easy to process all the different inputs observing reality throws at us.
The fact that nudity and pornographic material consist mostly of female bodies is two fold:
1. men are more visual orientated.
2. woman tend to be more open for bisexual urges.
Therefor that market is bigger for female representation.
Not only that but overall, men tend to "settle"while woman tend to "date up".
Most divorces and break ups are initiated by woman by a lardge margin nowadays.
Meaning there are more men "needy"then there are woman.
You already stated that morality only matters on the intention of how you treat another person. Therefor there is no morality to gain or lose in pornographic material, unless it's forbidden by law.
Your response sounds like you're defending treating a woman as just a baby factory.
1) describes child-bearing in such a demeaning way
2) views healthy sexual relationships as objectification
Your responses sound like you've never been in a serious relationship with a woman. Based off your attitude of women, sex, and children, I hope they avoid you like the plague.
Even if you might argue that tendency is ultimately driven by our pattern of reproduction, it means individuals often choose their partner as a person, rather than just a genetic donor.
With pornography, the moral issue arises because the sexual objectification of women it encourages (primarily on the broader stage of society rather than within an individual piece of media), is harmful to them by negatively affecting how they are treated.
The other details are more heavily contended.
Certainly, we objectify in order to simplify (reducing the interaction to just what we need from a person), and that's not a major problem as long as it isn't producing a harmful result.
Intentional action includes knowingly choosing to do something with the awareness it will cause harm.
Laws don't strictly have any direct connection, as those are merely artificial rules design to vaguely represent morality and maintain a stable society.
1. Yes, funnily enough that objectification sounds demeaning, which is rather my point. That's why you should regard women as more than just baby factories.
2. If the people involved regard their partner (or partners) as just a means to get sexual gratification, a tool to serve their own needs, it is indeed objectification. Whether or not it is "healthy" according to some other standard of measurement is a different matter.
The fact most people on earth are heterosexual is because it is the ONLY way to repoduce naturaly. It doesn't matter how humans further reduce their choice by other preferences.
First and foremost;
For males it are females.
For females it are males.
Morality only becomes an issue on how you treat others which then in turn have a negative impact on the person who is treated in a certain way.
Ethically speaking we should always try to avoid negatively impacting others when we have a choice.
2) It is your fault if you use sex to serve your own needs. Maybe you should consider serving your partner's needs instead, if you ever manage to attract one.
I'm just saying, that I can appreciate the female body. In fact, I think it's the most amazingly fascinating thing ever created. Not creepy, tho.
...unless.
EDIT:
Srly, tho... implementing a well done mod of explicit nature is one thing. This 8 yo mindset of exaggerated breasts is a bid (bit) much to handle.
Nonetheless,
"I know your house has been a sex pool for 200 years.
I don't need a partner.
Turn around, don't click on it ....and leave.
You have that option."
Consider the example words I gave before; if you hear someone suggesting a partner be obtained just so they can have grandkids, in that line of speech they have reduced the potential partner to just an object for satisfying their desires.
If that seems harmless, repeat it a hundred, a thousand, a million times; a deluge of objectifying attitude that seeps through society and colours the perception of women as simply breeding pods. And know that it is not even just a million times it has been said in reality.
Like pornography, the negatives come from a broad societal shift, rather than a single incident, which always seems perfectly harmless on its own.
2. Objectification comes not simply from satisfying needs, which can be mutual and wholesome (or are you perhaps a robot operating without desire?), but from treating a person as having no other worth besides their utility as a tool to that end.
It's sad in a different way that you cannot separate the discussion of that from thinking about me being associated with it in real life and waste your time on ad hominem.
?????????????????
