Need help with settlement snapping.
I'm trying to stack stairwells from Vault 88 (In sanctuary. I'm making a mini vault to lock up my power armor.) but the stairwells won't stack on each other. Any ideas how to get it to snap into place? I've already tried pretty much every piece in the utility tab (I wanted the building red from the outside to tell it apart from the building I made for my house, which didn't give me any trouble, weirdly enough.) and I already installed a couple of mods that are supposed to help with snapping. (Doorway endcap fix, and another I can't remember right off of the top of my head, I'll have to check.)

Any ideas how to get it to snap into place like it's supposed to?

Edit: After about four hours of trail and error, it looks like the only way it's going to work is by using the prefab corner (the one with the missing walls) as an anchor of sorts, making for the doorway endcaps aren't in the way (it just seemed to want to snap into place more often without them) and lastly - weirdly enough - starting from the top and working my way down. so basically I had to make a rafter and basically build the tower starting from the roof...all ten floors.

oof.

Have you tried using the stairs from the Warehouse? That with the rectangular floor piece lets you make landings to daisy chain your way up. I had to put fencing on the flooring to keep from falling off!

1 Issue to be aware of - the segmented stairways (180 turn) will bring you higher than the height of a standard cell space at floor level connection.

This video might also help. Made by ESO. He makes some good videos on games. However, I am not sure if he uses any mods in this video.

To my knowledge, and having used them the entire time I've been playing this game, they cannot be snapped to one another without mods. It's garbage, and really they're the only stairs (aside from the short ones) that refuse to snap together.

While building nice things is possible without mods, they do not in fact ever snap without one and I don't know of one in particular for this. (there is someone making a LOT of 'snap' mods, the last couple months though!)

It requires a bit of experimentation. Sometimes there are prerequisit buildings they need to be placed on such as foundations. It's entirely possible but rather fiddly. With a vault door facing outside you should be able to place a staircase connecting to that door providing there's enough ground space. I would probably start with placing a flat floor tile on the ground then placing the stairs on that, rather than doing things the other way around and hoping they'll all snap into place later. Start from the ground.

Use the Vault-Tec Workshop "doorway ends" from "rooms" or "utility" to join the two stairs, then check for the annoying effect of overlapping, after the stairs are attached you can remove the doorway end.
