Couldn't find anything definitive online, but would I be making a baseless assumption by believing that once I pick up a magazine, its perk is earned, and I may sell the item without losing the benefit that it bestows? Or if I sell Covert Operations manual, will I lose my boosted stealth capabilities?

Once you read it its just a magazine to put on a rack or sell it. You dont lose the perk if you sell it.

Thanks. Then my assumption did indeed have foundation. I just like to keep my Miscellaneous inventory clean so I can locate certain other items more easily.

You can make nice displays with the magazine racks, either flat or the rotating metal ones, but I always just sell them.

I've never seen any benefit to populating displays. Frankly, because there are no practical rewards for engaging in such behavior, I've never done it. If "they" granted perks for doing that, it might be a different story.

Cosmetics without rewards? Not attractive to me.

Generally the only reason I keep them is to find out which ones I'm missing... Since the perks are usually gained in order... (once I beat the majority of the game so I use a guide to find the rest for completionist sake.)
So unless you want to recheck an entire dungeon again on the off chance you missed a Magazine. easier to look at your inventory to find out...

But apart from that really no loss to selling them. and can in fact be really helpful. Since quite a few are worth some good caps.

I'd decided long ago not to engage in the potentially rage-inducing frustration of hunting down all such items. If I find one, okay, and if I don't, again OK. So, from now on, I'm just selling them, then.
