Trip to the Stars Bug
Hello friends. I have a problem with this quest and couldn't find a solution online. I'm stuck with this mission where they all get in the spaceship and wait for me to start it. Whenever I start the spaceship, it spins endlessly and quest doesnt end. I even waited 24 hours two times but didnt work. I cant return to a previous save because I gat raged and left that mission and did other things. Now I want to complete it. Anyone knows a console command to finish it? It really bothers me.

By the way I dont wanna finish it by installing the fourth fusion core and you know, finish them. Wanna finish it the normal way.

I believe that bug is cause by putting in the fusion cores before talking to Darla?? (whoever talks to you before you enter the ship.) just load a save before that and put them in, then put them in after you finish talking with her.

Fun thing about that quest even though you look like your spinning. it actually the room that is spinning.

I made this quest two times and at first, I did everything after talking to her. It resulted in the same way. After that I started a previous save and as I know all the process, I did them before talking to her and again happened same thing. This quest is full of bugs. Every step of it has a kind of bug but now it is too late for me to return a previous save because I really got angry after several tries and left it and moved to other quests. Anyway, thanks for the answer.

Ahh okay... I believe I ran into a bug like this a long time ago... I think I had to start the whole quest over and do something else.. But I can't remember.

that fix above is one I do remember so I thought it might work...

Sorry that didn't help.. you get a really good gun out of the deal too... an actually unique weapon..

I'll dig around some more for a while to see what I can come up with... But as you said it might be too late.

So one of the problems that cause the quest to continue is if a Hubologist dies or is not in the ride it will go on forever cause it's techincally "waiting for them."

But some people say dragging the body to outside of the ship before Dara makes her speech helps. but is easier if you just resurrect them with console commands. or just don't have them killed at all.

Anyways.. sorry I couldn't be of much more help... hopefully you'll make a back-up save before you enter that cell on a new playthough to get that awesome gun.

Well one of them died continuously, I tried until she gets there safely but still it is same. You helped as much as you can do mate, that is more important. Thank you so much :steamhappy:

Same here, if you move the spaceship stop spinning but then you cannot activate it anymore, i guess i will just give up on this quest

I dug into more. (cause I later had the same bug.)
And the solution is quite stupid..
1. do not get the spacesuits before going into the Hubologist's cell. (the area when it loads their location.)
2. save before entering.
3. do not do the radiation thing inside the hubs base. (this can cause other problems too.)
4. immediately do the quest for the Hubs, and Don't let anyone die.
5. do not enter the Junkyard till you are going with the Hubs.
6. make sure to kill the alien traps in the garage, as well as any ants or bots around.
7. make sure they are all alive.. (some can straggle behind, and have radscropians attack from a distance, that you might not notice.)
8. once there talk to Darla BEFORE putting in the fusion cores.
9. only put in 3 fusion cores. (to get best reward.)
10. wait till they ALL go into the spaceship.
11. wait till they all take positions inside ship. (they should all be nice to the outer circle waiting.)
12. activate the ride.

for whatever reason you have to do these steps to NOT get the glitch.. doing any of these out of order, or preemptively.. some people never get this bug.. No idea why.. but it's better to avoid it otherwise..

hopefully this will help any console players too, if they can't use mods.

And I misspoke up above, it's actually your character spinning on a very fast platform in one spot, rather then them spinning.

And just to be clear this is not a sure fire method.. unfortunately this is a bethesda game.. if it does not work.. and reloading a previous save does not work.. you'll have to reinstall the DLC, or just uninstall in the main game. make a new save, and reinstall.

Sorry I can't be more helpful than that..

here's the wikia page.. but its not a guarantee to fix it.
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Trip_to_the_Stars

Also the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch will not help.
https://www.afkmods.com/Unofficial%20Fallout%204%20Patch%20Version%20History.html

I didn't read the whole thing, but I used keywords to search it..

if you find out they've actually fixed it (via this mod or other mods, or via official channels...) someone please correct me down below.

Thanks man. Appreciate it. I used console command to finish it actually but next time I play, I will keep this in mind.
I know this is old but it comes up in search. I was wearing power armor. Took it off and it completed. Could be a coincidence but worked for me.

/\ /\ /\ This right here /\ /\ /\

Had the same problem. even resurrected Tula and brought her there because she always dies right away. Finally reloaded to outside the 'ship' and took off the power suit.. BOOM worked perfectly. so weird. stupid bugs that Bethesda will never fix..

Definitely just try taking off the power armor before entering the 'ship'

For my next gameplay, I have a lot of solutions to try :D Thank you by the way

Can confirm that being out of power armor is the solution. I had this same bug and all it took was exiting PA before entering the ship and starting it.
