Fallout and my new PSU Chieftec Polaris
I bought a PSU model Chieftec Polaris 1050W PPS-1050FC for assembling 3080 ti 5800 3d msi mag x570s torpedo max. In the load, the fan starts to turn sharply at 100%, as a result of which it is impossible to use at night, not only my cat wakes up from it, but also the girl. Moreover, the intensity of howling depends on the rotation of the camera in the game, which turns the process into something terrible. The graphics card and processor were loaded by 50% and the fps rested at 100. The power supply is located in a well-blown PHANTEKS Enthoo Pro 2 case. The PSU behaved exactly the same way on the rtx 2080 i7 8700 z370 asrock extreme4 . The problem is that this does not happen in all games, for example, in Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings with rtx ultra or Escape from Tarkov, the PSU is not even heard against the background of the fan CPU and other fans, where the 3080 ti is loaded by 99% Has anyone else had such a problem or guesses? Tested on Vanilla pure and with mods (MCM Booster, F4SE, Address Library for F4SE Plugins, Buffout 4, Shadow Boost FO4, Fallout Priority - f4se plugin, High FPS Physics Fix 2 and 210 more plugins...)

Are ... you trying to say, "my PSU is garbage out of the box and don't know how to ask the manufacturer or distributor for help on what specifically can be done for it"?

Throwing money at a system doesn't guarantee that the products you're putting together work at all out of the box, or together, or that their configuration is correct when you've got it running.

If your psu is overtaxed, that's bad, if it's making noise, that's very bad. Are you *positive* that this is the power supply? They should not, ever, make noises. It sounds like you also need to look at power / performance settings, which may vary for your system.

It's far more common for the GPU fan, and on some games the CPU fans, to ramp up, because different games using different engines tax those systems in a variety of weird and sometimes stupid ways. But the PSU ... should not do that.

The fact that this is a PSU, or rather its fan, which starts spinning at 100%, I am sure, because my MCI Center, Aida64, HWiNFO and MSI Afterburner tell me about it through the OSD in the game itself. As well as the transparent glass of my case and the flashlight aimed at the PSU and its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soaring fan every time I point my camera at the ground in the game)) By the way, the air that comes out of the BP grille is cold enough, I just hope that nothing is heated there over 80C.

The review I just looked at says the fanspeed profile is a bit aggressive, so you're stuck with that noise.

While it's fun to have a million frames a second, you should sync your FPS to you monitors refresh rate. This was the issue with Amazons MMO Bricking 3090's. They were ramping so high producing like 1500fps it was causing massive power draw and over heating and bricking "Some" 3090's.
So some software "Can" brick your machine or cause abnormal power draw.

For a high end rig always buy a Tier A or above psu. 2 years warranty is an indicator that it is to be avoided. Psus suitable for gaming pc's are around 10 years. Spinning psu fans is also a sign that it is potentially a problem. Most high quality psus these days are noiseless.

In the review when it says the caps are poor but the fan can cover for them, run like hell. If it blows it can take your pc with it.

My guess is that spinning fans is caused by 12V ripple. Gpus need a square wave. Although the psu might be providing the power, if the capacitors aren't good enough the wave may go out of shape. When this happens the gpu can start drawing more power attempting to compensate. This only makes things worse. End result is that psu shuts off completely or worse case can blow. Ripple can damage your gpu as well.

Do not overclock a gpu if that is the case. Also do not use sync settings intended for low load high fps games.

Thank you all for the answers! Apparently I made a mistake in deciding to save money on PSU. I'll change this garbage in the next month to Corsair RM1000x or PHANTEKS REVOLT PRO 1000W.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ PSU's tend to break other compononts when they blow. Take that ♥♥♥♥ out of your system asap

From what I read that PSU model only has a 2 yr warranty

The review states the negatives for the PSU as:

Short warranty compared to the competition
Electrolytic caps on the secondary side not of very high quality
Mediocre transient response, especially at 3.3 V
High inrush currents with 230 V input
Hold-up time doesn't exceed 17 ms
Ripple at 3.3 V should be a bit lower at high loads
High OCP triggering point on the minor rails
No over temperature protection (or it is set too high)
The fan-speed profile could be less aggressive

Yiiiiiiiikes. I didn't look for the specs on that but wow :/

Remove that as soon as you can, yeah. You don't want a psu messing up the whole rest of your system. :(

Make sure you have 'weapon debris' turned off.
Also...if you disabled VSYNC...re-enable it.

Lol, I figured out who is interested. It's all about the old Falloutprefs.ini config. After updating the config through the game launcher, everything works stably, and the PSU does not turn its fan at 100%. Rechecked now 4 times, changing Falloutprefs.ini in vanilla and with mods. In a terrible dream, I could not imagine that the game settings could affect the PSU fan microcontroller... In any case, tomorrow will come PHANTEKS REVOLT PRO 1000W PHP 1000 GC Gold (analog Seasonic FOCUS Plus 1000W Gold). If someone is interested in how he will behave with the old config, write here.
