MO2 and texture compression : how do I bypass the texture folder?
Hi,
Maybe someone can help me on this one.
I try to compress all my loose files in the TEXTURE folder into BA2 files with ARCHIVE2, just to get better performance.
The problem is that I use Mod Organizer 2 and 500 active mods.

How do I tell MO2 that I don't want to use the TEXTURE folder anymore and the loose files in it but WITHOUT DEACIVATING ANY MODS? (I just want it to use the new BA2 files)

MO2 doesn't place any files in the texture folder. How did they get there?

yeah sorry. I'm talking about the "virtual" TEXTURE folder as seen thru MO2.
I launch the game from MO2 and with F4SE (which is configured as an executable in MO2)

How can I "remove" the texture folder in MO2?
If I simply delete that folder, MO2 just deletes all the texture loose files in the MO2>mod folder. And I don't want that. Don't wanna lose them.

In the left hand pane, deselecting the mod with the loose files will prevent the files from being included in what the game sees. Simple as that. Nothing gets deleted, just not selected for inclusion.

You make another folder under the mods directory called "Mystuff" or whatever, put the BA2 in that using the correct sub-directory structure and enable that mod.

I have 550 mods active. I can't deselect every mod that has files in TEXTURE.

I'd like to find a way to make MO2 understand that I don't want to use the TEXTURE folder anymore. I'd like it to be renamed or removed.

I tried to mess with the sResourceDataDirsFinal by removing TEXTURE like this :

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

(as you can see --> no TEXTURE)

....but it seems to do nothing. Is this INI setting working anyway?

Did you find a Work Arround?

Sort of.
In MO2, I deactivated the texture folder of some of my mods (in MO2 you can right click on the texture folder and "hide" it. It simply renames the folder from "texture" to "texture.hidden").
And then I included those texture all together in a new BSA archive.

But it's a tedious work.
I wish there would be an option in MO2 to simply bypass the texture folder.
