Have never had a crashing issue however. I suspect other factors may be involved for those who have.
*shakes head.
Then how come my new system I bought this last Feb works great in Fallout 4? No issues at all when I am building in settlements.
It's a hardcode of the game and you'd have to remove it and replace it but could risk breaking other things in the process sadly.
Do not get me wrong. Not saying you are not having issues there. I am just pointing out not all have.
Are you trying to build massive settlements there and over stepping the in game build limit? Using Mods?
And what does this mean in relation to the cause of the issue with the topic of the thread?
Using any building or settlement mods? And just how massive is your build there? Computer specs would be help too. Trying to build massive settlements using a weak computer, may cause issues. The build limits in settlements was put there for good reasons.
Can you provide a screen shot of your Sanctuary settlement? Would be interesting to see just how....massive it is.
And like I posted before, system specs.
Your computer is plenty strong enough to handle settlement building up to the in game build limits in them.
But Snactuary is a pretty large area to build on. I have had some fairly large buildings there, but I would say, I never went much beyond the surrounding buildings which are close to the one the Preston crew wants to improve and are constantly working on.
But if you are under the building limit indicator for there, you should be fine.
You could try removing some buildings there and see if that helps. I do have 16 Gig of system memory rather than 8 like you do. But that should not be the cause of your crashes. Unless you are having a memory issue.
Was going to say pretty much this. I have built very large settlements at all 3 locations on multiple playthroughs with no issues.
Concerning the OP. Your system specs look fine for Fallout 4. Do you have any issues with other games? When was the last time you updated your Nvidia drivers? One thing I would do for sure is get your RAM up to 16 as 8 is just cutting it close.
Usually Mod Clashes cause CTDs, especially if not Bethesda Mods.
While I've never had it crash myself, I've also never built anything major in any of those 3 settlements. They are in a poor position to use as a base, being up in the corner of the map where nothing ever happens and is mostly wasted space.
