Automatron Robot Encounter Crash (With a possible fix)
Alright. The problem me and my friend had, wasnt a mod related problem, but at the same time, we didnt know what exacly casued this, but after a whole night tinkering, i finaly figured out wha tthe solution was, and the answer was in my Morrowind folder.

This is due to the voice files in Automatron DLC.

To fix this, extracting all of the voice files, using tools like BAE or other extractors. once that is done, deleting or movign teh DLCRobot - Voices_en.ba2 file somewhere so the game wont read it.

That somehow fixed our games. I leave this fix here incase you have a similar crash problems.

I leave my original comment below to show, how frustrating it was for both of us.

This is getting extremely frustrating, espeacily when you people shove that damn County Crossing Crash Fix mod into our faces when its not even related to the crashes at all.

This isnt something that only affects me, but also a friend of mine cant even start the DLC quest, as when he get close to Ada, the game crashes (and when he tries to listen to the distress call via the radio). I get a similar problem now but when trying to get the 2nd radio beacon.


And before you ask, yes, we both have tried the ''disable all mods'' methods. I can asure you, this sint some mod related problem. We did all kinds of weird things to try to get this fixed, ranging from reinstalling the game, the DLCs, verified the files, worshipped Atom on a sunday, you name it, everything. Atleast everythign that is written.

Im sure that me and my friend arent the only ones that experience this. From my testing, getting to close to them crashes the game, but never getting any concrete info on what exacly it could be.


If i came off rude, i have to apologize, but i am frustrated, as this never happened before. I did compelted this DLC with a different character before, and that save was even more modded in a much more crazier way, so i am at a loss.

Also, if this is the wrong section, any moderator may move this to the correct one.

Rationalize your load order with LOOT and use MO to test your build with different profiles.

That i did already. Both for me and my friend. And as stated before, its not mod related (and if it was, i cant imagen what exacly.).

Got anotehr update. I can clearly say that this is the robots, 100%.
I approached the robots at eh Headhunting quest in every possible angle, in every possible location in the game.

Skipping the quest works, but i really, really dislike the idea of using console commands to skip quests, as it really breaks teh immersion, and my soul.

Setstage dlc01mq04 2 crashes the game,
Setstage dlc01mq04 3 puts me in sactuary with the requried items and everything, but having the moment already done when you talked to the robobrain, but hats the part that i DONT want to miss, evne if i done the DLC quests before. I jsut want to enjoy the game, and not want to tinker with it in real time, like driving a upbeat car.

I went full monty and disabled exacly everything i had, still teh same crashes, so no, i say it again, its not mod related.

Edit: Currently did some small step by step quest skip, so i managed to get past this par,t but it is still, serisouly, a huge problem. espaecily for my friend. He isnt as tech savy as i am in terms of conosle commands and stuff, not in this field. So its still quite frustrating i msut say.

Edit2: Okay....this is getting extremely ridiculous. Now i cant even enter the Rust Devils's interior area?
I am very curiosu to, waht exacly, is going on ingame wise, that causes these crashes. But we cant have that luxery cant we?

Alrght, this is horribly stupid, but somehow this fixes the problem. I dont understand how and why, but i had the exact same problem in Morrowind and the fix was the same too.

That, somehow fixed all of the problems. I dont know how and why, but apparenly, this fixed it. It even fixed for my friend too.

If someone could shine some light on what was going on with the BA2 file, you may do so, i like to know.

Except "disabling" mods leaves behind so many scripts running in the savegames it really doesn't do anything except stopping new scripts from running or loading up modded assets.

Best bet is to see if you two are using any of the same mods, perhaps you'd locate the troublesome mod in question and be able to locate a fix.

I see that you didnt read my last reply there. cant blame you, some people read to fast sometimes.

I said it in my last reply that i fixed it and how i did it. And like staing before, it was not mod related.

Well, my point is that perhaps a mod is modifying the way the game reads that file and futzing things up, by unpacking them you're forcing them to laod last and overwriting any changes a mod has made to how its read.

Whatever it is, its not in ym data folder. I dobule checked everything, both by files and by using FO4Edit, but nothing seems to do that. So its really strange, espeacily when both me and ym friend had the exact same problem, and when we use completetly differnt mods.

This fix works in 2023 on my 300+ mod list.
