Kellogg, how can he be younger than my son?
So Kellog gets the baby, Kellogg looks like he is in the higher 40ties. When u find Shaun he is like what? 75+? How is this possible? Kellog wasn't a Synth he only had some components to teleport.

What did I miss?

Go into fathers quarters and take a read on his terminal.

Yeah but it can be confusing, you take a walk through his memories don't forget. It did trip me out a little bit when I first played trough.

It's easy to miss because Kellog does not contain any inventory items that are in any way unusual, and none of the implants he doesn't have are ever mentioned again in the next quest.

Pretty sure if you exhaust all dialogue options with Father he ways that Kellog is far older than he appears, if you read his terminal it basically just reconfirms it.

Kellog has a lot of implants in him. But none of those implants should have any impact on aging.

So basicaly what it comes down to is:

Bad writing.

Bethesda was never famous for good writing, but this game is below even their standards.

Fallout 4 is riddled with similar problems. You just have to get used to it.

RIght, how about after taking a trip inside his head and learning his back story, one of the SS's lines is like how (s)he felt sorry for the S.O.B. Seriously, someone mod Kellogg and his name and put Hitler in his place. Would feeling sorry still apply?

Why shouldn't they have any affect on aging? It's science fiction so if the Devs say the implants slow aging then they slow aging.

Trust me there's plenty of holes in this game but I thought Beth covered themselves pretty well on this one.

All it is is just a desperate attempt to plug a plot hole, and an ill conceived one at that.

If someone developped an implant that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aging it would be the best selling item of all time. Every one would want it.

A good writer would know that such a technology would have huge consequences. Even if the institute kept that tech for themselves their society would basically be reshaped by it.

But instead of being the humungous world changing tech that it should be it is limited to one person, and never mentioned again, and never explained.

Trust me, bad writing.

If Kellog has an implant that stops or slows down ageing. Why doesn't Shaun use it?

*Models hate him, click here and learn about Kollegs secret anti aging technique*

The institute dumped this kind of "augmenting", because of synths, one of their scientist mentioned it in an upset way, claiming it would be way better than synths.

Would pointing out that old world blues had a lobotomite called test subject one a lobotomite thats hundreds of years old due to cybernetic implants? You also have house and the nuka world founder mdigel can keep human tissue alive indefinitely as demostrated by the soilder pre war soilder in 2 you can wake up (granted removal from it ends badly) so advance tech that most people dont have access too stoping ageing isn't exactly new for the franchise.
