* Download the 7z archive version of F4SE from https://f4se.silverlock.org/ and save it to your location of choice, in your case "Downloads". If you're playing Fallout 4 VR, download the VR version, otherwise get the one that says "Fallout 4 runtime 1.10.163 - build: 0.6.21". (it's the very first one)
* Use any archive app (7zip, WinRar, etc) to extract the archive you just downloaded.
* You will now have a folder called "f4se_0_06_21". Open that folder up until you see :
Data
src
CustomControlMap.txt
f4se_1_10_163.dll
f4se_loader.exe
f4se_readme.txt
f4se_steam_loader.dll
f4se_whatsnew.txt
* Open another window and navigate to your Fallout4 game folder (the one where the Fallout4.exe file is). Drop everything I listed above into it.
*F4SE is now installed properly. When you run your game, you MUST run it with
f4se_loader.exe and not the default game launcher.
If you want, you can delete the .txt files as well as the src folder that came with F4SE but it won't hurt if you don't.
What I wasn't aware of , Method 1 ( the early days ) all the files were dumped into your fallout 4 local files .
Method 2 was to put all below ''src'' into your Fallout 4 local files , and once I 7-zip the data file , it was installed into the mod manger manually . The problem is I installed the latest version of the manager not knowing it was an updated version 'cause it looked the same ( to me ) as the old version ) .
I found a ''video'' from Gother that showed the new method of installing F4SE into the new manager around half an hour ago . I've since managed to install F4SE and can now launch the game thru the manager .
Good for you. I was a bad boy for not pointing you to Gopher's video in my post.
