Any mods to change the voice?
Does anyone know if there's a mod to change the squeaky little voice on the guy.
Every time he speaks he sounds like he's about to start crying.

I can't even remember what it was from, but I recall watching a video of a guy running around yelling Shaun! repeatedly. It cracks me up just thinking about it now.

I used to take great pride in my z5500 digitals back in the day and quite a bit less pride in the Z906 that eventually replaced those. But I was then blessed with the realization that a good pair of noise-canceling headphones blows both of those options out of the water. They are little annoying to wear but they deliver unmatched clarity and fidelity over any open sound system I have used. I never realized how many nuances of audio I was missing out on until I plugged in a pair of XM3's.

I can not only hear a squirrel fart in the woods but also the ant squealing as it flails through the air. It's gotten to the point where I can't stand using my z906's even for just a few minutes while I wait until my headphones recharge lol.

I can see how good a pair of nice headphones are. You are drowning out other noises which may be interfering with the game's sounds. But I would not be able to sit at the computer for hours wearing such.

When I first started playing Fallout 4, I had my old 20 year old Creative Labs speaker system with a sub woofer and I was happy with them. But eventually one speaker begin to lose a lot of volume. So I got the Logitech system.

The improvement was amazing. I started hearing things in the game I never did before. Such as rain hitting the metal roofs, The water from the rain, running off the roofs and hitting something on the ground. The sound of ejected round cases, hitting the walls next to my char. Rounds zooming past your char, etc, etc.

Yeah don't get me wrong, there was a time when those tiny SoundBlaster speakers were a step up from my ratty $5 headphones. Those were the good old days.

One thing I will say about headphones vs speakers is that headphones, at least good quality headphones, is they have quite a profound impact on player ability in a lot of games, particularly shooters.

I remember playing co-op with a friend who was actually really good at FPS titles, but despite his shooting skill and reaction times, he was actually quite bad at the game because he had very poor awareness. I couldn't work out why he never saved me from a zombie that was walking right past him, it turned out he was using those crappy in-built monitor speakers and so had basically zero spacial awareness. I thought for a moment he was partially blind lol.

Baseline measurement...does his voice sound 'squeaky' during the following;

TBH...whenever the SS is speaking about losing their significant other or the kidnapping of their child...the male voice is whiny and the female voice is gruff. It would be erroneous to base the SS's voice type upon the initial interaction with Codsworth after getting out of the vault.

Funny video. And no, I do not think his voice sounds squeaky at all. In that video, his voice sounds like it should be if he is being sarcastic.

And no, I do not think his voice sounds whiny when speaking about his son being kidnapped.

But thanks for the laughs. Not seen that video before.

Okay I might have been a bit harsh on him calling his voice squeaky, it was probably more like a timid twelve year old boy. I could kinda put up with it in the early stages but when it got to the encounter with Kellog I remember thinking 'Hell is this guy crying and he's supposed to be a war hero'
Anyway that's my take on it I know it's a subjective thing and we all hear it differently but this looks like it's gonna be a long game, too long for that voice to be grating on my ears.
But it looks like there might be a fix or two in the replies so I'll check them out.

Thanks for all the replies.

This is one of the weirder complaints I've seen about the game, dang.

i don't have any complaints about the voices,...but i never even thought about this. it does seem odd that there wasn't "someone" "somewhere" who thought they could do a "better" job and recorded themself voicing the lines and then make a mod to replace the VA with their own

I do not talk to Kellogg. I kill the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right away. So I guess I need to watch a video of him sounding like a wimp when doing so. it would be the only time he sounded like a wimp in my play runs if he does.

But he makes it clear to Valentine and Piper later, he would kill Kellogg again without hesitation. He sure does not sound like a wimp then.

Well you're lucky you missed it if you hear it once it's pretty hard to get it out of your head and he sure as hell sounds like a pansy to me.

I just watched a YouTube video of Nate picking all the response options when confronting Kellogg. He does not sound like a wimp in any of them to me. There is one option, he has a very frustrated, lost hope reaction. But the rest, he is firm in his attitude with Kellogg.

I think this is a matter of personal perspective.

He sounds like he's about to cry or become hysterical but as you say it's all subjective.
