Can't Complete Mission "When Freedom Calls"
I'm not sure what I did to bug out this quest so much, but I can't complete it. It has two objectives left, put the fusion core in the power armour and meet with Preston Garvy in Sanctuary. I already put the fusion core in the armour, but it didn't complete the objective. taking it out and puting it back in doesn't help, and using a fresh core doesn't work. If I try to talk to Preston at Sanctuary, he won't pull up the dialogue options. He just says "hey" or "The MinuteMen coud use a man like you" and other meaningless dialogue like that. I tried completing the quest with commands <completequest> <001a001c>, but then I can't procede onto the next quest. I tried to complete the fusion core objective using <setstage> <001a001c> <60>, which works, but I still can't talk to Preston.

Try posting this in the bugs subforum. Or the same on Bethsda's. Results may vary.

Yeah it takes a special kind of talent to dig up a 6 year old topic and make rude, disrespectful, combative, and argumentative comments toward the person helping.

If you clicked on the link Kansasterry provided it takes you to that answer I gave.
