Vault DLC give some optons, CC stuff and Nexus mod can give some happiness boosting stuff (Like toilets from Symbiotic settlements)
So 2.5 pick me up stations per raider will fix that.
The whole point of raider settlements is to spam pick-me-up stations anyways ;)
Which means you should have built up a settlement THEN go vassalize it for the raider to provide food.
If you are General, and then you start raiding, Preston GITS MAD LOL, but if you enver accept the role of general, you can raid to your hearts content, and then after your done, start your "Redemption Arc" and purge the area of the Raiders you set up, lol.
I usually "raid" settlements, go to nuka world.. then rescue preston if I decide to do redemption otherwise I'll rescue him and burn through the main quest (go institute, makes more sense for a raider.. use the raiders to keep the commonwealth too weak to be any real threat in the future)
