Is there a mod that makes armor not fat looking?
I dont particularly want to wear skin tight outfits just for that purpose.

have you ever worn military armor though? because one feels like turtle from wearing it.
This ^
It is realistic and how armour actually makes you look.

[If I may be very bold to add, it is not entirely healthy to be so preoccupied with such superficial characteristics... it can lead to eating disorders and self-concept issues down the long road (you or your offspring). Sorry for such brevity/curtness, but I don't want to see anyone go down that path...]

But is this real life, or is this just fantasy?

It's worse when you're wearing a bulletproof vest.

While IRL combat armour is bulky and feels somewhat restrictive, it doesn't do the lumpy pufferfish look that F4's armours do.
It's not helped by the lack of actual coverage on the proper armors in F4. Combat armor, even ceramic plate based armor, doesn't look like poorly fitted medieval plate.
I don't understand why they designed away from F3 and NV combat armor, which looks far more sensible.

Similarly, they also changed quite a few of the weapons away from their original designs for no logical reason. The change to the 'assault rifle' and the extreme scarcity of the standard military 5.56 makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense whatsoever. Meanwhile, .38 is super common as a general round? Rather than the 10mm or even 9mm that was everywhere in previous games? If they wanted to throw in pipe weapons that could be rapidly outpaced, surely it would have made more sense to go with .22 and step up to 10mm or .45 for the next tier, as opposed to making the arbitrary decision to make the pipe weapons all default to .38? Most the IRL pipe guns I've seen have been either .22 or shotgun shells.

The design of equipment in F4 is a fking mess overall, in my opinion. A lot of needless changes, and a lot of poor decisions regarding what to put in, what to keep out, and what should and shouldn't be rare.

youd be surprised at how moch of a turtle most soldiers feel when they are on full battle rattle.

Feel doesn't mean look. Also, a lot of that battle rattle isn't even their plates, it's the ammo and other supplies. Unless they are in an EOD or NBC kit, then it's the armor.

well unless you are some skinny dude , most likely you will be wearing medium or large,a nd the large makes you look alike turtle.
stop fighting facts. full uniform and battle rattle makes soldiers look like turltes.
lol@ all of you arguing about realism. It's a bug. Wearing combat armour over army fatigues sets the character weight triangle to the max weight. It's been in the game since release.
