Can't clear Taffington Boathouse
I've never had this happen before, but it's for a Minuteman quest. I'm supposed to clear Taffington Boathouse and I can't. I've clear it and the drainpipe near it. I've spammed VATs everywhere and don't see anything. I've nuked the house and surrounding area with mini nukes, and nothing. I've also tried fast traveling back and forth along with doing several missions and coming back. Nothing. Any ideas on how to complete this?

ok, knowing that i can suggest that you try this in the console ~
do a save game first and if it doesn't work like you expect then load that save.

setstage 0015F03F 200

then you should be able to go talk to the settler who gave you the quest to have it completed

you do not have to do anything. just secure the settlement. the rest is just about story(just tie in's as well) and loot in those areas.

just take out the mosquitos.

yea just kill all the bugs. if you think one bug is like stuck below the ground or something where you can't reach you can do a console command

kah

which means "kill all hostiles". it will kill anything near you that's considered an enemy and it can reach in places where you can't, like below ground

What do you mean you "can't"? What is it that you think is preventing you from completing it?

Usually you activate the workbench after killing the bugs. Did you kill the bugs in the sewer interior nearby as well? There are 'notes' you can follow unless you blew it away by nuking the house.

I'm not sure if you have to kill the bugs in the sewer as well.
At least I didn't always do that when claiming Taffington as a Settlement.

It once happened to me that one of the bugs that wait in front of the house flew away when I started the killing and I first thought I'd never see it again (and I couldn't claim the settlement for that reason)
But after a while it came back ... to die :)

I've seen this happen twice on the Vault 81 quest. Stupid mole rat won't come out and bite SS. And Curie won't open the door until all the molerats are dead. So,

I ran through taffington and cleared the bugs and claimed the workshop but afterwards I did notice a bug was clipped under the terrain and was not able to be hit or targetted. Maybe you need to put your ear to the ground somewhere in the zone & wait for the game to correct it self by leaving that zone for a bit. The bloodbugs down the canal where not needed to be cleared to claim the workshop. But i did find this clipped bug across the gap from the house area.

Yes I did kill every bug I could find... There's got to be one clipped under the terrain or something. I tried using "TCL" to go under and use VATS and didn't see anything. kah command doesn't seem to do anything. The killall command doesn't let me clear the area either.

ok, well it sucks that you can't complete this quest in a traditional manner but there are other ways to go about getting it done.

first i really need to know what your quest title is.
is it "clearing the way for (location name)"? - 0015F03F
or is it "taking point: (location name)"? - 0015F040

Hey.

Not possible; kah and killall definitely kill. It'd be nearly impossible to dev or mod without them, having to actually play the level(s) you're creating each test? Blech.

Now, if you're saying killing everything doesn't give you the ability to interact with the workbench still and you can't end the quest, that's possible I guess, but nothing in that cell other than you and any setessentials will be alive after a 'killall'... anyway OK so who cares, then just give yourself Taff ownership... take by hiring post-apoc attorneys and abatement credits, not by gunfire and brute force. :-)

Looks like Taff is 00135A90, so open the console, do 'prid 135a90' and then 'callfunction "workshopscript.setownedbyplayer" 1' then close the console and go interact with the workbench.

This will probably end and clear the acquire quest, if not, do an 'sqt' or 'sqs' and look for something relevant, or as Shadow said, just tell him how you got sent there and he'll give you the questid so you can 'setstage' or 'completequest' it. (some people go insane having stuck incomplete quests on their list, makes them truly crazy, even if it affects nothing.)

Did you go to at the ending of the channel, in the direction of the hospital but at the water level? leads to a shelter, there too is full of bloodbugs.
Xenon The Noble Mar 31, 2022 @ 8:08am
Yesterday I had a mutant hound stuck in a medium size trash pile and wall. It was completely hidden. I went completely around it when I was wearing a power armor helmet that marked the location.
Then I saw it, it's nose was peaking out of the wall. Shot it in the nose until it was dead.
Kinda sad, I hate killing dogs. They're just being loyal to their master.

The dog wants to viciously murder you. Does not matter who the 'master' is.
Humans have masters too, but the misguided underlings are okay to kill en'mass?
Death Approaches Mar 31, 2022 @ 10:53am
Hey what about the rando encounter starving mutated ones? How many of those have you dispatched criss-crossing the Commonwealth? They just want to eat and live, same as any.

Then again? There are no dogs. There are no humans. There are pixels. Computer code, math, graphically represented. There are no bullets nor guns, either.

OP did say he went 'tcl' and looked Beneath, Between and Behind* meshes for the straggler bloodbug, though...

Jon / Project, those bloodbugs in the culvert leading to the pipe are not related, as you know that's for the unmarked mini for mommy's note and her kids notes learning the druggies story... but OP did say he went and took them out anyway. So it sounds like console time.

Well, sounds like some powerful mods going on...
jedi74 Apr 4, 2022 @ 7:52pm
The only mods I have are mainly adding things for building settlements. I've played countless games with these same mods without a problem.

The quest is "Clearing the Way for County Crossing".
