F4SE not working [SOLVED]
SHGetFolderPath 00000005 failed, I keep getting this error when launching F4SE.

I have tried the following:
unistalling F4SE and reinstalling the latest version (did not work)
uninstal the game and reinstal the latest F4SE (did not work)
running F4SE as admin (did not work)
delete all .ini files and saves (did not work)

at this point iam close to giving up and not playing the game anymore.

side note: this is also happening with skyrim special edition so i think it must be something to do with the script extender

Some antivirus/protection software blocks. Do you use Windows Dfender or Bitdefender

some new virus definitions will do the trick. Had it myself new definitions and suddenly some program map blocked all of the sudden.

okay so i had a look at the reddit thread and did the controlled folder acces thing so the game now launches when i use the F4SE .exe but it doesnt launch in fullscreen and the GetF4SEVersion command doesnt work so something is still not right.

okay so you have to turn off controlled folder access completely off not just give F4SE permission, so i got it working but partly turning off security features is never nice.

either way thanks for the help guys

Problem was a broken mod I installed in my case. De-activating suspicious mods might help some.
